Can a dealer burn vin into comp w/o affecting program?

Since member's on here know all there is about this truck, I'd figure I'd ask you guys....
I spoke to a few dealers 2 said they can flash a vin into a performance computer without affecting the program and another said it will overwrite the entire computer?
I know several of you work at dealers and I figure it would be possible to burn only the vin into the comp without affecting the program in there...can you help me out?

Yes they can just change the vin, if you get a performance computer you MUSt have the vin reflashed or the check engine light will come on...
