Stick, I believe they actually dont lower the truck, its just that they hang down lower than the factory leafs, hence lessoning your ground clearence.......that is what I have heard, but I could be wrong.

Looks like you gotta take off the factor slapper spring and snubber?? Hows the install, looks pretty easy but I'm not a fan of removing a leaf spring and the front leaf spring bolt to get the CalTrack bracket in!!

i think u dont have to remove leaf spring at all, i think it only need to be add cal trac to leafspring

No, you have to take your leaf springs completly out! There is a aluminum bushing that you have to put in place of the rubber one. Kinda a pain in the ass but worth it;)

You have to remove the leaf spring entirely....I was able to "borrow" a lift at a local shop for my install. I supported one side of the axle with a tranny stand and did one side at a time. I tried to press the bushing out but unless you have a jig to fit the leaf spring housing its not likely you can press it out...(not enough lip to leverage against).

I did use the press to push the middle sleeve out of the rubber bushing and then burned the bushing out with a torch. After most/all of the bushing is gone you can then hammer out the sleeve with a chisel. I cut the sleeve with a sawsall and then folded it out with a hammer and chisel.

The rest of the install is a piece of cake.

Yes, you have to take the factory bottom slapper bar off (RC only). I keep mine preloaded all the time....... the ride, handling and traction improved with the Caltracs, leaving no worries :D
