I believe it comes up as packing material....remove it... looks much better without. All I did was cut the "cardboard" @ the retaining clip's... pulled it out of there, then pushed the clip in flush.

technically its fire retardant and heat shield to control fires in the engine compartment...is considered a shield for the driving compartment, which i think we all know that it wont do shit if it a fire really happens..i took mine off when i first got the truck.
