About to undertake the construction of a Wine Cellar in my basement...

I don't know one end of a claw hammer from the other...I'm just a tad better with a ball-peen, not much...

I will have a host of really dumb questions...will try to handle via pm to avoid too much laughter out there.

Questions like: will my 135 pancake compressor be strong enough to push a framing gun???

Roy

It should be fine.... you use it for finishing nailers and brad, right?

Passloade makes a hoseless framer that is great

sorry PROF but that one looks TO BIG for me.... i think you're better off with a as small as possible one , the air hose to it is less a problem...:dontknow:

i used severals , the small ones can go everywhere and at least you see what you're doing :D Also the angled ones are better ...

Going to home depot tonight...will need an angled one...$350 is a lot of money for a hammer replacement!

I'm not a carpenter, but I play one in an office all day. :D

Well an office is a better place to be a carpenter pretender than a manger...;) :D

You will love it Roy.... It may not go whooooop, but it does have a cool fan discharge after each nail.

But incense and mirth help a little.

To say nothing of the wise men.

You mean your wife's husband . . . Right? :dontknow:  :D

Should be fun, Roy! Do you have a blueprint of the cellar, or are you just winging it? :dontknow: I always prefer to wing-it. :D

I have a Porter Cable brad/finish nailer. It's nice and small to get in tight places. I love it, but it's not cordless. That pancake should be fine for any job your doing. You want a GOOD measuring tape, and a GOOD level. A "Speed Square" is always a nice helper too! You can get them at HD or Lowes ------>

I will have lots of questions, because I am just going to start nailing 2x4's together...then coming here to ask questions...

This could be a horror story...but fun.

If that's a pun, it's a good one.....

If not.................................

the passlode is the way to go...one for framing and one for finishing...i carry them in my service truck and they rock! had them for 4 years now, never broke down, as long as you clean them pretty regular. way easier than running a compressor and hose...especially if you have any areas that you need to use a ladder. definately get the angled shooting finisher vs the straight one.
