Ok Guys Remember when I told that the shop In San Jose Wants 2500.00 to do a catback and remove the rear cats. Well I found a Local shop that can do a Magnaflow Catback for 490.00!!! But they will not touch the cats at all.
Is this worth it or should Just spent the 2500.00 and Remove the rear cats.
How Much Performance am I going to get If I did remove the rear cats and If I didn't.

Explain to them you are going to pay cash and that is a track only truck... see what they say...

:dito:

By law they are not allowed to remove the cats. But a little persuasion never hurt no one.:)

just purchase a set of catless mids from justin, and a magnaflow catback system and install the stuff at you house. less than 800.00.

for 2500.00 you could get mopar performance headers w/cat delete pipes and a mopar performance cat back system.

thats the way to go.Its not too hard to do.Did my exhaust (magnaflow) by myself in a couple hours.Catless mids can't be much harder.Making sure that stinking CEL does'nt come on is what would worry me!!!

Yup!!!

Go to Walmart, purchase a pair of sweats and a Git'r'dun T-shirt so you dont mess up your pimp outfit.

Annu, once again you are caught on the horns of a dilemma, due to the lack of a plan, imo.

First you need to decide if you want to do a cat delete or not...deleting the rear cats is not a decision it is indecision. If you are interested in optimizing your performance then do a full cat delete and (I hesitate to say this) add long tube headers, mid pipes and a Magnaflow or if you prefer the Borla.

If you are not going to add headers, then leave the cats in place and add a Magnaflow muffler. You will have the sound and feel you are seeking.

Plan your work, with the end in mind. Covey said begin with the end in mind, I think you have not gone through this initial step...is your truck going to be a runner, a looker, or a lightly modified street machine....if lightly modified street machine is what you want...you will need to decide early on if FI is going to part of your plan...if it is, many decisions will be much clearer. If it is not, you will eliminate some of the complexity, but choices will become more obvious.

Not a lecture, just trying to help you through this process.

annu, if you want your truck to pass smog in calif. go with the catback and don't mess with the cats ....if you don't care then delete the cats...its that easy:) (but 2500 is way over what it should be) look somewhere else if you go that way........

Annu drive down to L.A....give me $2450.00 and 4 hours later I will give you your truck back with the magnaflow and catdelete....:D
