So i emptied my catch can today and changed the filter (looked like crap) and instead of oil it had some kind of old gas smelling clear fluid in it (might of had a bit of water). What would cause this?:dontknow:

I would partially guess that its from the hodd vents...

Dom has been raping it....................I'd wash my hands in chlorine:marchmellow:

It's condensation and oil vapors I removed my filter and plumbed it into the air intake I hated smelling oil vapors as I went down the highway. I noticed more fluid as soon as I added the supercharger to mine.

Well it shoul be mostly water. Blowby gases are primarily exhaust gases and guess what a byproduct of combustion is? WATER!

What I plan on doing is just replumbingthe hose down and out to the rear of the truck like an exhaust pipe. No catch can no smell no nothing.

This would be a cool idea if you could get it to not sling crap all over the rear of your truck. Id imagine the rear (tailgate) would always stay dirty:confused:

Im just gonna get another catch can and run one for each valve cover, also i have a small hole drilled in the bottom of by air filter box with a ruber hose running from my catch can drain valve for easy drainage, makes it pretty easy to empty:)

Yes i was thinkingof that as well ... 2 cans . Also I have mine mounted out by the ac condensor. I still would like to try running a hose to back and se how it works

All i did was remove the filter tap it with a pipe tap put a 5/8 barb 90 to a short piece of hose to another 90 and ran a hose to the bottom fitting on the JMB cold air intake plug. If you dont have the fitting at the bottom you can get those plastic adaptors like the zex kit has for the nozzles and plumb into that. No smell anymore.

I can get pics tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Stuff some SS brillo pads down into the can and it will stop the liquid from coming out of the filter..
