All i did was remove the filter tap it with a pipe tap put a 5/8 barb 90 to a short piece of hose to another 90 and ran a hose to the bottom fitting on the JMB cold air intake plug. If you dont have the fitting at the bottom you can get those plastic adaptors like the zex kit has for the nozzles and plumb into that. No smell anymore.

I can get pics tomorrow if anyone is interested.

This pretty much defeats the purpose of the catch can.

What I plan on doing is just replumbingthe hose down and out to the rear of the truck like an exhaust pipe. No catch can no smell no nothing.

Weld one of these into the exhaust system in each pipe (following the directions on getting them at the proper angle) and then attach the hose from the valve cover to these. No more gasses, emptying catch cans, and also pulls a vacuum in the crankcase which helps build more horsepower by creating less windage.

The catch can lets liquid drop out of the air and keeps it out of the intake...so it still works..................the catch cans that we used for the Hemi engines still route the hose to the TB...just removed fluids from the crankcase air..

As I typed my message I figured this response would come from it. Your right the catch can still works to a point but not as good as if the breather is left in place.

And I figure you are right.. ........but it does kill the smell....but you already figured that... .........

Water is super normal.

I will be getting bigger cans, that have a steel mesh that sperates the clean and dirty side then route the cans into a jmb cai or relocate the cans to inside the heat shield with the filter so the cai will suck up the smell....

Until then keep the AC on Recirculate.

Without a catch all the oily smuck that is in the catch can goes into the intake manifold and pools behind the throttle body. On a stock breathered set up.

This eventually gets sucked into the motor where it causes corrosion and the oily parts contribute to detonation.
