Installed my jmb catch can. The driver side hose looks bad. The fitting on the valve cover comes out straight and aims right for the injector. There is no room to put the 90 degree elbow on that fitting without having it ****ed to the side. I've cut the hose as short as it can go and the elbow causes the thin plastic hose to kink.

To be sure Justin didn't intend it to look this way. Can someone show me a shot of how they have theirs hooked up on the driver side? I may have to swap the oe fittings.

I can't believe I have a pic of it :dontknow:

Did you get the can with the filter attached? Mine tends to smell so switching to a unit with a return line to the intake. Justin does great work but not sure that he knows about this issue.

A return line back to the intake defeats the entire purpose of a catch can. I know there is going to be others that say I'm not right and blah blah, but vapor seperators don't work.

A better solution is to use a crankcase evacuation system and route the hose into the exhaust. Then the fumes are gone and it helps pull a vacuum in the crankcase which reduces windage which in turn creates more horsepower.

Or move the catchcan elsewhere, I have two, one for each side and they are mounted down low on the frame rails. I don't recall smelling anything when mine runs, but I think it depends on the amount of blow by that each engine has and the smells/vapors are a one on one basis.

Show me where you have yours mounted... Is the down low thing just mounting location or is there something to be gained by mounting it below a certain point.

I mounted the catch can in the cold air intake shield where it was designed to go. However it has only one bolt mounting point at the top and it will sway left and right when turning. I don't want it to wear through the powdercoat. Also there is only 1/2 inch from the bottom pet**** to the bottom of the heat shield.
Are you guys removing the catch can to drain?
If not, how do you keep the goo from pouring all in the shield?

Looks to me like there should be a hole drilled in the bottom of the Cain shield and a hose to drain it into something.

I mounted mine down by frame on each side of the backside of rad with a ball valve to drain with a long hose on it.
I've seen some guys mount them on the outside of the cold air heat shield too, that would make it easy to drain, put a hose on the bottom of the valve to drain it out,it shouldnt fill up with very much fluid.

Heres what I did with the valve covers, I had them machined to use a -6 ORB fitting, then used steel braided lines and ran them down to the frame rails connected to the cans. If you look hard enough in the third picture you can see where the cans are and how the lines run to them. I also never have to drain mine, there never is fluid in them although mine doesnt get driven too often since my build.
