 20 hours later, I’m F’n tired and have so much crud in my eyes I think I need a doctor!!!:nurse: Removing the Cats is a PIA. My advice is just torch the bolt. I didn't have a torch so they took 17 hours to remove!!!!!!!!!:banghead:

I need help with this install. I have the passenger side pretty much ready to bolt up but the driver side is a PIA. I will say that I attempted to do this without removing the exhaust system behind the mids. I have dropped it from the hangers. Do I need to dismantle the entire system? Work from front to back… Is this possible by myself? I’m starting to hallucinate. I see dead people. Wait! That was my reflection. Somebody give me the secret. I’ll be checking back in an hour or so after I hit my head on the pipes again!!!      I have to finish this today. The truck sticks out of my garage and I can't close it ~or~ move it now. I'm plucked!!!

P.S. They are JMB mids.

Should of used a sawzall it would been over 17-18 hours ago. Good Luck.

Yea. But I wanted to keep them in case FL starts checking again.

Cut the bastards off...............toss into attic for future needs. WD 40 for pipes and hangers. Installing the mids is one of the most frustrating jobs. My installer just moved the rear exhaust back, he did not take off.

Good luck dude.

I had mine removed in 1 hour by a Pro. There is no way in hell that I'm going to fiddle with cats for 17 hours!!!

I don't think I fully understand you . . . :)

You've got the OEM cats off, and are having trouble with the install?

Thanks... I'm rehanging it now and lining up the driver side pipe to press it in "I HOPE".:(

Cutting was the last resort! With everyone ~including ME~ modding these trucks, stock equipment will be hard to find in the future.

My OCB takes over in these situations. 6 bots 2 clamps and 4 02 sensors... How friggn hard should THAT be???
It's like Dodge callenged me to get them off in one piece Damnit! I won...:dontknow: 17 x $ =:motz: :banghead: :banghead: :thefinger:

Yea I finally got them off... But I am having an issue getting the driver's side pipe on. It seems a bit short.
I think I may have it now but I need to find one of my buddies to help force it on with me. Im waiting for my neighbor to get home.
MAN I"M FRIGGN TIRED!:hmpf: :goodnight:

Yeah I bet your tired doing it in your driveway on your back. I paid a guy at a exhaust shop and he hated every bit of it!!! And yes he was using a lift.

Good luck, you will get it done. Tone is awesome and throttle response is much better. Your neighbors will really hear ya now.

this is exactly why i went with LT headers & had my mids (both catless & hi-flow) flanged !!!! you'll have the same pain if you have to swap back....... alittle more cost now, but cheaper & easier in the long run.......:D

So I devised a plan to use small tie down straps to pull the pipes into place… It worked great!

Now I need to do the job all over again as I just figured out the passenger side pipe is about 2-3 inches too long! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :motz: :motz: :motz: :motz: :motz: :motz: :motz: :motz:

Ohh brings back bad memmories  :( , the connection just behind the midpipes can be moved a little to the front by hammering on it after spraying WD40 on it ....if you understand what i mean ?? that's if one of the sides a lil shorter .

DITTO X 10 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are worth it,though it may not seem that way now. They were the single worst install I have ever done on anything !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crud in my eyes too.Cut my eyes ,thankfully not too bad.

Really brings back painful memories .I ended up getting mine welded at a local shop.

Mine were too long also and they are x-metals. They fit drcraig's when he had them on his but not on mine. I will have to cut them but if you look at both ends I am unsure of how to cut them. One side with the flange I will not be able to cut, the other side looks too short to cut. :dontknow:

I wish I had a local hookup to have them install it for me. I spent about 4 hours working on this one day and felt miserable for the next few days. I am about ready to tackle it again but have to figure out where to cut them. Here are pictures of both ends of mine:

PAY SOMEBODY ELSE TO DO IT!!!

It’s out of the garage… Leaks so bad I got stoned in less than a minute. I’m going to attempt ~or~ pay someone to move the pipe connecting the mid to the muffler some other time. I’m just too tired to F with it anymore.

I have given my friends and family the go ahead to kick me Square in the BALLS if I attempt another exhaust.
I would rather have a Draino Enema than do this again!!!
Jimmy is right...Not my thang... :D :reddy:

 :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :stoned: :stoned: :stoned: :stoned: :stoned:

dude, shoulda got the mopar units...had my headers and mids done in about 4-6 hours. sounds great now and it just pisses the neighbors off, i think they just have penis envy...lol...not that i have a big penis, just a package big enough to own one of these beasts...
