Here's something else to throw into the mix. It's my understanding that, aside from them all being automatics, none of the Challengers released in '08 have a limited slip rear differential (or a Sure Grip differential as Dodge calls it). I believe that it will be standard on the SRT's and optional on the R/T's after the full lineup goes into production.

If it was me, I'd definitely wait for the "Sure Grip" and I would absolutely get the stick. I think that it would make the car a lot more fun to drive.

Here's a link to a road test of the Challenger SRT with a 6 spd:

Looks like fun...

If you're looking for a daily driver then you might want to look into the R/T version. I comes with the MDS (multi cylinder displacement) and is also available as an automatic or a 6 spd. You could save yourself about 10 grand by going this route. Here's a link where the talk about the SE V6 version (yawn) and about the R/T version:

Sorry about being such a YouTube whore...

The 2008 has electronic traction control which aint worth a poop for a performance car..:dontknow: .....the 2009s (RT & SRT8) will have LSD rears only in the 6sp manuals...autos have electronic...

Yes I know, I just do not want to be changing clutch's like water. At this point it looks like the Manual. However, I am still holding out

Gotta be cheaper than these viper truck clutch's!!! Car is 1000 lbs lighter than the truck too......that should help make the clutch last longer than ours.

I have a 2008 Challeger also. I would go with the auto for a couple of resaons. The stick is around a $900 option. From the articles I have been reading the auto is actually quicker than the 6 speed.

i know mine is bone freaking stock and I got Eddie the diablo, and he says it made a freaking HUGE difference , especially in the bottom end and shifting
