Stock for stock, you would kill a TBSS. The weak link in the SS is the transmission. It's a 4 speed with loads of torque managment. GM thought that putting 4.10 gears in it would make it run better, but I suppose they did not want to R and D a 5 or 6 speed, instead they took a standard 4 speed truck transmission and just beefed it up for the hp.
That said, my truck would probably run neck and neck with yours. They are 395hp from the crank stock and the AWD put out about 300hp and the 2WD will put out a bit more at the wheels. I got to dyno my truck and if you look at my sig, you will see my numbers and mine is an AWD. Mine is tuned, has a custom cat back etc. GM gave these a very conservative tune and they are good for about 25-30hp without adding anything else. Also, with 80% of tq mgt taken out, the vehicle shifts a boat load harder and actually gains about 1-2 thenths in the quarter for such a small change. I too have my Tq mgt taken out, so it runs pretty decent now.
this is what a guy said on another forum, thanks for the comeback guys, looks like next time he comes by I am going to stop him and see if he really wants to line them up,,,,,just hope I dont screw up the launch like I did the last time I raced my wife
