Change in title: Please help the Sickness!!!!!

UPDATE ON MIKEY

More bad news. The infection is in 4 top bones of his foot, requiring at least 6 weeks of IV therapy. The DOC is placing the order to have a PICC line (permanent line) placed, so he MAY get to come home Monday. If anybody knows the in's and out's of the insurance world.....PLEASE let me know.

I am not sure how much more he can take. It breaks my heart to have him in this situation.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE......pray. We need it BADLY. He will call his supervisor on Monday and let him know what's going on.

Hope to hear from you.

Thanks Marne:eek:

I'm definitely not a pro in the insurance world, but what type of coverage does he have and from what company? Maybe we can all piece this together for you.

My wife may be able to help abit here too.

Just got off the phone with him. He is getting a shot in his tummy (no joke). Said to hold off on the calls for about an hour.

O Father of mercies and God of all comfort, our only help in time of need: We humbly beseech thee to behold, visit and relieve thy sick servant Mikey. for whom our prayers are desired. Look upon him with the eyes of thy mercy; comfort him with a sense of thy goodness; preserve him from the temptations of the enemy; and give him patience under his affliction. In thy good time, restore him to health, and enable him to lead the residue of his life in thy fear, and to thy glory; and grant that finally he may dwell with thee in life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

He was getting a medication injected to prevent blood clots....prolly heparin...not sure.

We have Regence of WA....it lapses the 30th because I am no longer employed with the company that I had our medical insurance with. SUCKS.

I can't imagine that the insurance Co. can drop you in the middle of a treatment....???....the state of AZ has a great assistance plan as well...your Doc will know all about it....

Marne, I am in and will send some money tomorrow as promised.....tell the big lug Hi for me.....I will try to check in next week........Keep your chin up.

Walt

I would imagine since he was admitted while you were covered that some of his visit would be covered within limits.

The first place I would start would be to simply ask Regence about the coverage and explain the situation. Hear what they have to say.

However, now talking to my wife, she feels you coverage may stop on 1 Dec. Nevertheless, you may have an option for an extension, but of course you would have to pay a premium for that coverage. That's what I would shot for is asking for an extension of your current coverage.

There may even be a few State resources for help.

Is this your insurance company?
Regence in Seattle
1800 Ninth Avenue
Seattle, WA 98101-1322
(206) 464-3600

If so, are you on plan 50, 70, or 80?

None. I was with Multicare who had there own plan w/Regence.

I was thinking the same about the insurance. We can pay for it after it lapses=$1300.00/month approx.

No way to win with this one.

I'd definately look into eligability with Arizona Medicaid... The only obstacle may be the length of residency requirements.... But it's certainly worth a try...

On the phone with Mikey now, he says, "God Bless you all, I love you all. Thanks for your support. Wish I was back online with you know." - Mikey

Have you talked to Multicare specifically on this issue?

Mikey said "Whoever just tried calling on the room #....please call back." He was on the phone with his employer.
