Aloha..time for a new clutch..
1. Which clutch is the best bang for the buck for my Paxton Supercharged 05

2. How much hassle is it to change..I have a scissor lift to get up
in the air. My local shop quoted my about $700 labor only.

the previous owner installed the centerforce clutch in my 04 with a paxton. haven't tried other clutches except for bone stock but i think the centerforce is a good way to go.

Gregg Island dodge installed my centerforce setup for $400. Its not a hard job at all. I would have done it myself with my buddy if we had access to a lift. The most important thing is to make sure you do the viper slave upgrade. You need to order parts through JMB or Roe Racing. For it to work properly you gotta have the custom shims. As for a clutch there is Centerforce and DC Performance sells another one.....I cant think of the name and dont want to guess. Keep the stock flywheel, dont go with the Fidanza. Its not a bad unit at all its just not worth the cost.

I have had the centerforce unit in for 11k miles. Its night and day compared to the garbage stocker unit.

You dont need a lift, it will take about 4hrs for your first time. Jack the ass end up, if you have a harbor freight or other store similar a floor trans jack is 120 bucks. Remove the shifter drop the drive shaft and crossmember remover the trans from the bell housing drop the trans and move out of your way take the bell housing off, remove the clutch and flywheel if it needs clean her up or just get a new one 150 bucks, remove the old pilot bearing install fly wheel clutch etc. It is really a simple job with a lift it sould take them no more then 2 1/2 hrs I can do it in less then 2 now on my back. 700 is a rip or just go to a regular trans shop It will probabally be cheaper.JMO

i went with a mcleod twin disk since my roe burnt up the stocker. and some people have not had good luck with the centerforces. my mcleod feels like im driving a john deere now;)

clutch

Do I need the dual friction or will the centerforce II do the job. I never drop the clutch, just need holding power when I step on the gas.
check out this clutch..

clutch

is there a clutch that will work with my s/c that I don't have to upgrade the slave?
I'm not a racer.....

Stock slave will not move aftermarket clutches. Heat builds in the stock slave and literally melts the stock unit. Slave upgrade is the single best upgrade you can do for our trucks. You have a SC'r you gotta upgrade. Truck drives so much better with the centerforce and viper slave.
