I was driving into work this morning on the highway going about 70. It was 28 degrees and all of the sudden my light turned on. Temperatures and pressures were fine. However, my belt was slipping pretty bad. Any ideas???:dontknow: :dontknow:

First, get that belt fixed ;)

A CEL (check engine light) is a minor issue related to a emissions measurement out of tolerance but its not a good idea to let it go for too long. The PCM may try to adjust for the error and run rich.

Without knowing the error, cant comment on what to do.

Get an ODB reader or turn your key off then on three times and look for the code that pops up.

In the dash where the odometer is....

that's right when u are doing the key on and off for 3 times then the miles in odometer will change into codes

Should be around 145°F.

Hey BlackViperRam04, make sure the belt slipping is really the belt and not the harmonic balancer coming loose. They sound the same and it's common on the '04s. I know this first hand.:(

Even in cold weather your temp should still get above the cutoff. In the Hemi it is <180 degrees to get that code. I don't know what it is in our trucks.

if it should be around 145 degree then would it be kind of low and still cold for engine?
