2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8

Just over two years after debuting as a concept at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show, the Dodge Challenger is now ready to hit the streets for real. The Challenger is reviving a name last used in the late '70s and early '80s on a compact, four-cylinder Mitsubishi-built coupe. This time, though, Chrysler is going back to the roots of the brand with a big muscular rear-wheel-drive coupe, initially available exclusively with a 6.1L HEMI V8 that will power the new Challenger 60 mph in the low 5-second range, according to a very conservative Chrysler. It shares the automaker's LX platform with the Charger and Chrysler 300, and in final form, the car has changed remarkably little from the concept. The most noticeable differences are up front and include the loss of the cross-hair grille and a slim black air dam at the bottom of the bumper. Other changes are pretty subtle, such as some reshaping of the lower air intake.

I so agree! Only thing that is disapointing me is the interior, but a 6.4 and 6 spd would probably make me quickly forget about the interior....

I agree. I heard that the SRT 8 models are only coming in Orange and Black has anyone else heard this? I saw the one on Barret Jackson go and it was red ................ Just wondering?

They didn't actually sell the one on stage at BJ. That was the concept car. They sold 0001 to come off the line. To Craig Jackson. The red one you saw was a custom made "Cuda". Built by a private party.

Whats up with side rear windows. Why didn't they make it a hardtop? I don't care to much for the rear bumper either. And the rims suck. Other than that its ok.

I read the same thing bout the 08' sand that the 08's were only goin to be made for a few months then the 09's are coming,and the only changes from 08 to 09 was that yes there will be a 6 speed stick a couple more colours available and they were saying that most likly the 6.4L will be ready!:rock:
