With Chrysler going into bankruptcy (that is forecast for today)...parts may become nearly impossible to get until things get sorted out.

Lets list what we have that might help someone finish their build or get back on the road...

I have:

All four wheel well liners (used)

Spark plug protectors (sleeves) 10 each

Spark plug separators and double ended bolts for the valve covers 10 each

Lug nuts 12 or 15 used

Used passenger side batt box

alot of parts have been hard to get sense november. it hasnot gotten any better. being that the SRT10 is not built anymore neather is the DR ram body style nor the 8.3l motor. i bet these items will not be produced anymore.

Isn't it law they have to produce parts for 7 years after production?

That law might go away under Chapter 11.

While I have the Wheel liners...they seem to be readily available...got mine the next day this past weekend...and the cost is about $35 each...would be cheaper to buy new than to ship...I think.

But I have them...

i have always heard that from un credible sources. so to answer your question the best way i know..............NO the 7 year thing is BS. if the manufacture covers the warranty for 3/36 then that is all the manufacture is liable for.

You paid $35 each for them new? Where did you get yours from?
Also just wondering but why did you remove/replace them?

Not sure that 35 is exact...I bought two new fronts and the two rear full wheel well kits.

They were cheap what ever the actual cost...the full rears are a little more expensive.

I wanted the full coverage in the rear...and one front has a two or three inch area where my headers melted it a little, and the other front liner was scuffed where the tire had hit it when it bottomed out on a huge pot hole.

Call the dealer I bet you will be surprised at how cheap they are. Or maybe my dealer is just giving me good deals...no way...that would never happen would it???

You and I both were saying it then...we have just wasted billions of dollars...but maybe give thousands of people the chance to prepare for this as best they could...

Just trying to put a good spin on a very sad happening...

Yup...Chrysler is in Chapter 11...sad day....

Sad day??? I am not sure Roy.

With the problems both GM, Ford and Chrysler have been going through, I think this is the only way for them to make the corrections needed.

For the last 3 - 4 yrs, I have been reading about all domestic manufactures having too many dealers, high labour costs in comparison to foreigen manufacturers, high overhead.

Hopefully a 'fresh' start will straighten this out with minimum labour losses.

I do wish Pontiac would have survived. I do think they were finally on the right track with the G8.

Wil

When I say sad...I guess it is an emotional statement not a process statement. Who ever thought????

You may be absolutely correct that it is the right path. I just feel guilty that I did not buy two Vipers last year to help out...hehehe...I won't make that mistake again!

Not sad at all!
Finally got the union to wake up and all the other cards are in order.
I think of it as a Rebirth!

I've always been MoPar and will stay that way.

I started ordering parts that were special to the SRT when I bought the truck.:D

Anyone for a NOS hood pad for $1000.00.:p

More news:

Blame it on the creditors – President Obama cited Chrysler's creditors' refusal to accept a debt-for-equity swap as the main reason filing for Chapter 11 was the only option left.
Chrysler divided – 55% will be owned by the Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association (VEBA), 10% shared proportionally between U.S. and Canadian governments, 20% owned by Fiat.
Fiat's got goals – Remaining 15% of company will be distributed to Fiat in three 5% increments for meeting the following goals: creating U.S.-built 40-mpg vehicle platform, providing a U.S.-built fuel-efficient engine family and giving Chrysler access to global distribution network.
Nardelli nixed – Current Chrysler CEO Robert Nardelli will leave after the alliance with Fiat is completed and the company emerges from bankruptcy, though he has stated that he was not asked to leave.
GMAC gets the job – Chrysler Financial has been replaced by GMAC as Chrysler's preferred lender for wholesale and retail transactions.
In-and-Out – Chrysler and the U.S. Auto Task Force estimate the company will emerge from bankruptcy in 30 to 60 days.
Dealerships to be cut -- No surprise, but Chrysler's dealer network will be cut down as part of the restructuring. No hard numbers are available yet, but expect details to follow in the next 24 hours.
Business as usual – Chrysler will largely run as normal in the interim, being funded by government-backed debtor-in-possession financing; warranties will be honored, suppliers paid and dealers supplied with inventory, but no new vehicles will be built until bankruptcy terms are finalized.

Geeez, I'm so glad I still have my stock oil pan - that baby otta let me retire in a few years
