Civic hatchback vs. SRT-10...

ok so im gonna defend the ricers a lil bit. i used to hate them with a passion, until i bought one for a commuter. they are just as addicting to mod and dirt cheap on mods as well. my acura integra with its stock non vtec motor runs 14's no problem. our shop wideopenperformance which consists of me and 3 friends has built some of the sickest imports around here, all by ourselves. we have a acura rsx all motor with 389hp at the wheels without the spray, runnin 12's in the 1/4 on street tires, a 88 civic hatch with a ls vtech swap runnin 13's, a 93 civic 2 door built integra motor runnin 21 lbs of boost and a 100 shot not run at the track yet but cage is just done so #'s soon. we also have 3 more cars in the process of being built. 2 will be turbo, one all motor. they are crazy fast on almost no money if you use the right parts. my acura may not be as fast as the truck in a straight line but it will beat it on a road course with no problem. yes there are the cheapo's that put a can and a intake on and think they're bad-asses, but a good deal of honda's out there are fast and i will give them props for the work they did to get there.

I didn't say I hated ricers.
I was actually defending the SRT-4s while I was in the stands.
However, you have to admit, being beaten by a 6000lb truck is little humbling. I did not use any NOS. Just tuning my truck with my new setup and pulley.
Dyno next week. Then tune with NOS.

Hey if you can mod what you got you might as well! personally I think rice and FWD is gay! just my $.01 lol, if I bought a civic to commute, of course I would mod it up!

I raced a civic on my last run of the night last week. It was a 14.6 second car. I should have told him to go pick on Roy and Stinker , but I needed the practice.

usually the crap ones are the ones to watch. they spend all their money on go fast stuff . however you gotta have some looks too. perfet example as to why honda cars are cheap. i just put jdm headlights, jdm tails, jdm front bumper and lip kit, and a new oem hood and fender on my acura 5 minutes ago and it only cost me $75 for EVERYTHING, and i got another high flow cat and O2sensor with it deals on parts for them are too good and it just raised the value of the car about $500 just for the "jdm" parts

I have nothing against modifying an import and have respect for those that do it right, but around here, those are few and far between. Most just throw on a coffee can and some wheels and think they can run a 500 hp supa truck . I'm building a boosted dodge avenger right now. Will it be the fastest thing on the road? No, but I think I will suprise a few people .

No, it's not a joke...

I was sitting at a stoplight minding my own business when a late 80's model civic hatchback pulled up beside me. It was half brown/half primer with the stock 13" wheels painted black :stupid: . Sounded like a straight pipe on it when he reved at me at the light. At this point, I just about busted out laughing. I should have just ignored him, but I couldn't resist the temptation to mess with him a little bit :idea: . When the light turned we took off and I pulled a half a car length on him and held it there. It sounded like his motor was trying to eat itself . I finally just took off so I could get over and get on the highway. He followed me onto the highway and gave me the classic ricer flyby.

I don't usually bother with anyone that can't give me a good run, but I couldn't resist this one for some reason.

YEAPH I AGREE... I DONT HATE RICES.. I USED TO HAVE A NON TURBO 3000 GT.. IT WAS MY BABY NOW IS OSCAR'S BABY.... BUT AROUND HERE IN BURLINGTON MUST OF THE GUYS W/ FAST T/A, CAMAROS ETC...THEY KNOW WHAT MY TRUCKS ARE CAPABLE OF.. I MIGHT NOT BE FASTER THAT ALL OF THEM WELL MOST OF THEM BUT I DON'T MESS W/ THEM THEY DO'NT MESS W/ME EXCEPT THE ONE THAT DON'T KNOW MY TRUCKS ..OR I LINE UP W/ THEM CONCIDENLY AT THE TRACK.. BUT RICES... OH MAN... THEY WANT TO RACE ME IN EVERY STOP LIGHT... BUT THEY NEVER HAD ENOUGHT.. THE OTHER DAY A 97 ECLIPSE NON TURBO WAS REVING UP HIS ENGINE AT ME AT THE STOP LIGHT... IT WAS LOUD... WELL I REVED MINE NO CATS AND MAGNAFLOW OF COURSE MY TRUCK WAS MUCH LOUDER THAN HIS CAR BUT HE STILL WANTED TO KNOW WAHT I COULD AGAINS HIS CAR.. SO I HAD TO RACE HIM 3 TIMES....
