cleaning truck

Hey guys... got lots of sunshine headed my way... wondering about the best cleaning options. Wax, detailer, etc.

I like Turtle Wax Ice for my dash, seats and other interior bits. For glass, it has to be Invisible Glass hands down, that stuff is fantastic! I haven't done any waxing or polishing lately but I've seen a lot of posts about Rejex, seems to be pretty popular that or if you have the time Turtle Wax Black clay bar kit does an amazing job for black vehicles.

Mothers Clay bar and then a good pure carnuba paste wax on top. Good luck and happy cleaning!!!!!!!

I have never tried this personally, but I have heard from several people to wash with dawn to strip all of the old wax, etc. off of the paint, clay bar and finish with Rejex. I think it was Jeff Boyette just did this to his black 10 and it looked sweeeet!

Being you just got the truck i would wash, apply the paint cleaner, clay bar, and wax. Theres lots of good stuff out there like everything being said by others. One thing i wouldn't skip out is the clay bar for sure it takes a lot of time but it works wonders. I personally use maguair's products pretty much. Good luck and look forward to seeing pictures

X2 on this one except I usually clay bar before I cleaner wax. I find clay bar'ing a truck goes pretty fast due to long straight surfaces. I get in the shade and use the clay bar in one hand and the spray in the other, moving as I need and finishing an entire panel before moving to the next, or half a hood. Spray the truck, spray the bar and go to work... keep it wet so it doesn't want to drag. Go for doing the whole truck first, and then go back to the small trouble spots later (like if you have a spot with paint on it, the bar will take it out but will take some time).


Do all the steps above and you will be amazed at the shine on your truck.

By all means....use the clay bar. It gets all of the crap off first. Old wax and grime that builds up. Then use a good carnuba wax. There are other things out there but good old-fashioned carnuba paste wax is the best. After you use the clay bar and apply the wax, it will be as smooth as a baby's ass.

Liquid goes on easy and comes off easy, but doesn't last as long and isn't quite as good at protecting. You can use liquid if you plan on waxing more often but if you're going through this much trouble might as well use a paste. A trick I use is to wet the pad then wring it out before adding the paste wax it it. Makes it go on easier but you still get great coverage.

I personally use Mequiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0 for my truck. its really great.
