Hey anyone here ever get a clicking noise out of there dash? It seems to only happen when when i just start her up when shes cold and as soon as she starts warming up it goes away. Radio i think but there are other options to so just curious if any of you guys had a similiar porblem in the past. Took it to the dealer and they said theres no problem in replacing my radio but if its something else its a lot of paper work to go through so we agreed to see if it got worse or goes away. I personally think its the radio but am unsure anybody have the same problem?

This is new, I have heard of ticking from the engine but not from the dash!!:dontknow:

Blower fan maybe????

yea right as i start her up it clicks pretty loud and then after about a min or 2 it goes away, strange eh? If it was the blower fan id think it to be a continous thing though that was off and on not everytime i start her cold?:dontknow:

try to give it alittle gas to maybe 15000 - 2000 right after when u start the engine

I have that too! I think it's the Nav system starting the inserted CD, but not sure. There is usually a CD in mine. My system also makes a "sick" "sick" sound while driving around with a cell phone in the truck. The dealer told me about the cell phone problem.

ok yours sounds worse than mine, im feel a little better and a little more worried I dont wanna get to that point I am thinking warrenty, im replacing the radio before it goes that far. If you have a warrenty id suggest using it if it got that bad.

well right now i am guessing it probably is from the radio, yeah go to dealer and have it change it should be under warranty

Does it sound like the exhaust cracking (like when you turn the car off and it cracks/pops)?

I hade mine do that, and I re-tq'd the header bolts and it went away...

Hope that helps!

Its the Aircond system deflector door. I think there is a TSB on it.
Ask Patrick

Now my quetion is are you sure it cant be the radio? The reason i ask is do to the fact that we cannot pin point the noise because it is not a long enough duration so me and the tech figured it was either the radio or the air cond door. Also is this only gonna happen in the cold? Or will it continuously do it or get worse no matter weather outide?

Easy way to diagnose if its the radio.
Pull the Radio fuse(s) see if noise reoccurs on next attempt.
If you do a initial start and get the noise,If you immediatly shut it(truck) off. and restart does the noise happen again or is it only on the initial start of the day?

i cannot believe after all ive done, i didnt try that duh i feel stupid! always on the initial start unless i let her sit for a long enough time to completely cool all the way down.

Only on initial start and then only after a complete cooldown sounds like the vaccume actuator for the A/c doors. Once vaccume has pulled the actuator open/shut then it stays set until vaccume leak lets door relax.
alway remember K.I.S.S.
