close call last night

well got home yesterday and was planning on relaxing and watching a movie when my neighbor beats on the door. seems my great dane Annie was at her house while she was cleaning the yard and got bit by a timber rattler, so i call the vet to meet me out there since its 7pm and luckily it wasnt that bad of a bite. she must not have gotten much venom cause she only swelled a little bit around her mouth. anyway after a night at the vet and 400.00 later she's back at home :rock: so glad it wasnt any worse.

My Dalmation was bitten by a copperhead a couple years ago..thank God I was 10 feet away and saw it. I know how that goes and I'm glad this wasn't another lost pet thread. Too many of those recently.

oh yeah, feels like someone hitting you in the balls with a pice of water hose or cb antennae. she is one of the best dogs ive had. you just cant be ugly to her. she just hasnt figured out she weighs 160 lbs. she thinks she is a poodle.

Glad Annie is ok. Fortunately you got her help in time. Although most rattlesnake bites are not fatal they do often cause severe ongoing difficulties. It was "Roxie" the great dane that I saw a photo of riding in her owner's R/T 10. Just not often we see 2 great dane stories in a days time.
