Clutch Question for the PRO'S......

Hot day, hot ass clutch fluid....could be toast. How is it today? Can you still scratch second? I dont mean at the track but the next day? If so you will be fine...........we unless you start dragging again. Shittyass setup just does not stand up to any slipping on hard launches. Boomer burned his up on his first race!!!! He then figured out how to adapt the centerforce to fit our trucks.

I am not a big wrencher either. You might have to go to a garage or the dealer for install and supply them with the motul fluid.

2nd.....i hope your not still too pissed! Picture what happened to me....bought the truck did some burnouts and chirped 2nd on the test drive clutch felt good. Driving home from the dealer leaving a rest stop I slipped it a bit, smelled it, and that was all she wrote! Called and ordered the centerforce 2 days later after i could no longer chirp 2nd. The centerforce/fidenza is killer....you saw me launchin that bitch at 5 gs! If you want to drag race more and more you might as well save up for that....but if you wanna sneak around town and not drive it too hard I'm sure yours will last a bit longer.

I need to put some heat shilding in...probably will at the time I install my headers (2 weeks bitches!!!)

DOes anyone know if that centerforce/fidenza kit come with killer fluid in it....or is there better stuff I can buy for it?

Sheilding the clutch line.
Under hood , drivers side, clutch resevior there is a smalll hose or line comming from there to front drivers side of traanny.
Now what I have found best is at Advance, its cloth spark plug heat shields. they are cloth like, about 5-6 inchs long, come in packs of two at advance and packs of 8 at autozone,( they work super on wires by the way)
They are tubular so jsut cut them long ways and slide them over the clutch line, and secure with small wire twist or zip ties.
You can aslo stop at the hot rod shop and get heat shielding wrap but I like the wire shields better , they are thicker and give a cushion.

OK Honestly on the fluid swap side, yeah it would be best to stop by a garage and have them swap it for ya, shouldnt cost nearly anything. The stock fluid has a boilin point of around 375degrees, motul is 600degrees, and when it boils it breaks down the fluid and therefore no pressure.

Your clutch actually should be good, but with the heat and all the pressure, your pressure plate is starting to fail. This is what puts the pressure on the clutch disc up against the flywheel, and when they get hot, or the stock just sucks then the fingers on the pressure plate will get weak and not put enough pressure on the other two.

So it will be fine, regular driving, but 3000 rpm launchings may cause it to fail quicker.

Your clutch has given you a 2ndChance:D :D

Stinker...so there is only that one hose/line that needs to be heat shielded for the clutch? Sounds pretty damn easy!

Yup, just 1 steel braided line from the master to the tranny....if you look at it, you will see how it runs right next to the exhaust..

Correct if I am wrong fellas but when I purchased my kit from Roe, the Viper master slave line had the cloth shielding running the lenth of the line. Wouldnt this be enough shielding? I know the stocker was missing some shielding in 04.
