Its now the 2nd day straight that the clutch fluid reservoir needs hydralic fluid. I look underneath the truck nothing seems to be leaking.WTF is going on??? Anyone have a clue. Believe it or not I'm running the stock orginal clutch 33k miles. I know, I know, Why do not you nut up and buy a new clutch; you must be asking yourself rightnow. You have a supercharger for christ sake your not doing yourself any justice by keeping the stocker.

It's just that the stocker was still working well, and why change it if it ain't broke. I was also interested in seeing what tolerances levels the stocker could get to. So back to my original question wtf is going on with my clutch fluid?

the stocker master/slave cylinder won't hold up long on a stock motor setup, let alone a SC one....... you need to upgrade your clutch, master/slave cylinder setup..... most all our vendors have kits that have the necessary shims you'll need...... time to "nut up"....... :D

more than likely

Litem up check under the dash, under the carpet make sure the clutch master cylinder isint bleeding back inside and running under tha carpet, have seen that happen a few times.

if not and you can find any other leaks then more than likely the slave in the tranny is leakin inside the bellhousing, and as chubs said, the fibber clutch may be soakin up part of it, or its jsut being slung around inside the bellhousing

You may think that your clutch is working well...do the test, I bet you will be surprised...

Run at 50 mph in fifth gear, accelerate hard but be ready to let off...if the engine ramps up but the truck does not start to fly immediately, your clutch is probably toast. Be very careful doing this test, an engine under forced induction can do terrible things when not pulling the weight of the vehicle in very short order.

Those plastic items we get stock in these trucks are just not made to endure the stress we put on them.

You got 30k more miles out of your clutch than I did! I would guess your slave is leaking for sure. That plastic POS just cant handle the weight and heat...........but yours most have been the super duper model to last 33k miles with a SC!!!! The missing fluid is going somewhere...........gotta be under the chassis.

I had the same problem, it will start to drip soon. The slave leaks fluid onto the clutch, like brake pads, when you get fluid on the cluch is will swell and cause the clutch to not work correctly... transmition damage is then caused by that...

You called it. Walked out this morning and the clutch fluid was underneath the truck. Went and looked fluid dripping out of the bell housing. Needless to say called Justin thinking he wasn't going to answer on the weekend, and there he was so I ordered the Centerforce with the Viper Master/Slave and a stock flywheel.

Now I can't waiting to see how the truck is going to feel. After the break-in.:D

I replaced my master/slave, & clutch (ACT) a few weeks ago..i dont really see much differance. The new Viper 'master cyl' is still mostly plastic but has a larger diameter.

ALEX,

ITS FUNNY U MENTION THAT. WHEN I WENT IN FOR MY LAST OIL CHANGE (2 WEEKS AGO) MY CLUTCH STATRTED ACTING FUNNY AND WENT LIMP. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE DEALER AND THE RES. WAS BONE DRY WHEN THEY CHECKED IT. WELL LAST THURSDAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN, CLUTCH WENT DEAD AND THE RES. WAS EMPTY, WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. GOT IT HOME AND HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT SINCE. MORE THEN LIKEY THE WHOLE SET UP IS TOAST BUT I WILL LET U KNOW ON MONDAY WHEN SHE GETS TOWED TO THE DEALER.

I've just encountered the same problem with the resevoir being empty and no leaks anywhere. I took it to the dealership we got it from and they said they only get the stock parts for our master/slave combo...Should I just order it from one of the vendors on here or just make sure that they know about the Viper master/slave set-up??

Also, is it necessary to go ahead and replace the disc since it has fluid on it, so it doesn't cause problems with the new stuff? Any more info on this would be great, cuz I'm really not very knowledgable on tranny stuff. Thanks.

Time to order the full set-up: CenterForce clutch, Viper Master and Slave...

JMB, Roe Racing, DC Performance, X-Metal...they all have it.

Remember me:wavey: we met at a local parking lot long ago, I just replace my clutch and master slave even though i never had a problem with, it has only 5k miles...I finally finished my shop here in Canyon.

I just completed 2nd Chances (justin) clutch install!!!!:)
Exactly the same same concerns you have, fluid loss, lousy clutch...
replaced the clutch,Presure plate(wiped out) and flywheel(cryo,d,courtesy of N.B.T.),and found some leakage running down the line from the Master to the slave(replaced master and slave assy.)(stock)And reassembled.
NOTE: This truck has 50,00 miles on the stock clutch assy,(impressive indeed).
I personally feel that the stock hydraulics are quite fine up to a certain h.p. level!!!
Call or P.M. me (I,m right up the road from you)For any info you might need...

ya I remember. good to hear the shop is done...I'll contact my old man(since the truck was at home, Wheeler, when the clutch failed) and see what he thinks about getting it up to ya when the stuff comes in. I'll PM you my number and stuff so you can contact me whenever.
