On my way home yesterday I am cruising along 97 in the middle lane of 3 lanes doing about 65 (speed limit) with about 1 mile clear ahead. Perfect for a little run of the ponies..I have a new crown vicotria on my left and an entrance ramp comming up on my right, just as I get to the enterance ramp a black on black COBRA gets on right next to me.

I look over and the guy acknowledges my glance, I nod, he nods..It is obvious he wants the snakes to fight to the end..He gives a little jump on the throttle to let me know he wants to play. I check my gas, 1/4 tank, perfect weight, I check the temp 88 deg, not too much heat soak potential, it is looking like perfect conditions for a run..:rock:

I look over to the car on my left, he too is giving me the glare...I look back to the COBRA and shake my head...Before I have the chance to signal again he romps on the go pedal hard...:burnout:

He is pulling 1 car, 2 cars, 3 cars, at about 8 car lenghts ahead of me the unmarked Maryland State trooper on my left in the Crown Vic hits the cherrys and gives chase..

When I was shaking my head at the guy, I was shaking my head "NO" trying to tell him don't do it, but he went anyway. :dontknow: He obviously did not (could not?) see the cop next to me..


I never said I killed the COBRA. :)
 
Great story! In Utah they now have unmarked SUVs and older cars out there too. Sneaky devils!

muscletrucks have you run at MIR ? If so what was your time ? you have a cam in right ?

Nope, 97 between Baltimore and Annapolis..

I have not run at MIR, not realy my scene. I may head up to show my Lil Red at the MOPAR show though and give a pass then.
 
Ouch!, That's gonna leave a mark (on his record). In NC they can take your vehicle for racing. Maryland State Police may be driving a Cobra on patrol in the future.
 
That sucks for him. Really.:( Most of us screw around at some point(s) or another, so I guess it was his turn...:dontknow:

Yeah but we all do silly sh!t sometimes. I guess he should try to be more aware from now on.

I tried to warn him.. I have played many times on that same stretch, last week I was messing with a boxter, had him when the road was wide open but damn those little suckers can get in and out of spaces a QC just can't..

Oh yeah it certainly wasn't your fault. What more can you do in a situation like that?:dontknow: I guess just be happy it wasn't you.:)
