I'm really anxious (after all the talk, talk, talk) ... to know if ANYONE has come up with a complete handling system for our lowered trucks.....

I swear ta' Buddha (no offense) that my truck handles like shit on bumpy or even undulating road conditions at anything over 60 mph...... It puts yer bloody heart in yer throat at really high speeds....

Many have discussed a complete system, but (to my knowledge) NO ONE has come up with one yet......

Can someone tell me of any actual system that's available yet...?

D

I haven't heard of a "complete system" but would definitely be interested in one. What would/should be in the system?

I agree D. I question the necessity of the bump steer kit. I do not really have a problem with bump steer per say. I think the problem may be due to a combination effect of spring rate, shocks, the need for front and rear swaybar end lenghths (JMB) and tires (i think alot of the issue may be the Pirelli tires).

I appreciate you starting the thread and hope we can come to some kind of consensus on what the best fix might be.

I'm not a tech guy...... But whatever corrects the problem and maximizes the handling of the truck.....

If this keeps up, I may remove the lowering kit........ My truck handles like shit.

Oh... well since now it's okay to talk about this mine handles great at really high speeds.:D

Replacing the Pirelli's should help quite a bit....QA1's would also help.

Next step would be to look for lighter rims and Jack's chromoly control arm.

You seem to forget what happens when you hit a dip in the road at 130-plus.......;) All the witnesses that day were amazed I kept it in a straight line. Thanks to those awesome roads in "Mexico".......:D

Come to think of it, Silence might be on to something...... ...we need to do some more real-world testing next time we're in Mexico.......:star:

I got rid of the stock tires and that pit-bull chasing the sausage handling. The General UHP's are much better. I still haven't installed the X-Metal kit yet. That should give more wheel control.

D,

I'm really glad you brought this up. I have been considering dropping my baby, and then someone will come along and talk about bump steer problems, pinion angle problems, sway bar kits, tearing up the fender liners in the front, etc.
I sure like the look of a dropped truck, but I don't know if it's worth it or not.

Thanks,

Lee

Thanks Lee,

Yeah, I think it was Mike Brady who referred to the stock look as " like a cat in heat" .......

I love the height and the look of my truck, no doubt about it.....

But at speed, it's like flying downhill a washboard road at the top of a 40foot extension ladder.

I wont be road racing my truck with the qa1's til september or august I think. I'll be able to give a better impression when I do. I'll also be racing at the same track I did last year. I was able to track my lap times with a transponder so hopefully (everything being equal track wise) I can give a before and after with the lowering kit and adjustable shocks.

I am gonna go out on a limb and say one is definitly in the works.

fully adjustable, no grinding needed, state of the art.

to what degree it will be offered as far as shocks, bumpsteer and so on, I dont know.

but i do know if everyone will post their suggestions, and what they would like as far as shocks, bumpsteer kits, it will not go unoticed

and I cant say no more except its not the run of the mill kit, and should use stock front springs.

and its not by the maker of the most popular kit being made now.

oh and it will be excellent for roadracers and dragracers

Look forward to the report........

In the civilized world we too have freeways… 6 lanes wide on each side with more straightaway than you can shake a stick at also with 70 mph posted speed limits and a +10 tolerance. In doing anything to win, there’s not much to do but move forward faster than someone else (when there are no other motorists around). Factor in innocent motorists and the act of driving fast ceases immediately. If an opponent kills someone else down the road (especially after I return to posted speed limits), well then that’s on them. They would have done so anyway no matter who they were running against. But getting back to 80, many kills I have under my belt didn’t go over 65 before it’s done and even then I was ridiculed for endangering others. PLEASE. You all do it… Just like a politician living in a glass house yet is ready to cast stones because he/she hadn’t been caught..

Silent and slow...Both, lets keep this on topic...handling kits!

Go to f-thread or post-ho if you guys want to ramble.

No worries...just making a point. If you have a problem with us posting "kill" stories...please make that a "sticky".....otherwise I ask that the ridicule we endure from others that have nothing but negativity to add to the thread be deleted just like mine and Venom Power's just were.

*steps off soap box*

Thanks-

Kill stories are allowed in the Racing section....the forum does not support any type of illegal activity.

We wont delete opinions regarding to a racing story because technically, it is still on-topic (talking about that racing story). But if it is off topic (talking about driveshafts in the racing story thread) then it will be deleted regardless of thread creator or off-topic offender. We just try to keep things to topic regardless of opinion(s), that's what a forum is for...opinions and information :)

now, back to the topic... :D
