Complete Handling Kits:

I called DC Performance the other day because Dan Cragin had told me he was also going to develop a complete handling system..... That was 4 months ago.... But, then again, Dan is busier than a one legged guy in an ass kickin' contest..... So there you are....

But anyone with knowledge of a complete system out there, I'm even ready to provide my truck as the guinea pig if neccesary...;)

D

looking forward to an upgraded handling package...the QA1's are a good start...we will see if they hold up or start leaking....nothing against QA1s it is just that this is a heavy ass truck....

better front springs would be nice as the fronts I have now keep sagging with time....

in the end though the thing is still going to handle like a truck...because...well it is.....:D

maybe I need to repost my post:dontknow: oh damn forgot I'm on the ignore list:D

Stinker, you mentioned a stock spring and no grinding. Are you referring to someone making a dropped spindle for the front? I would be interested in a proven/tested bump steer kit and would consider a complete handling package.

Broke I dont want to actually say too much , its in the begging stages, and the person doing it may or may not go ahead with the project, or how much he offers I really dont know.

I did talk with him some about it, as with another.

on the x-metal kit you had to grind the upper control arm mounts to adjust enough for the camber to be correct.

and with this kit you will not, or should not, and possibly use the stock spring, but its not a spindle.

but will be adjustable to correct the camber problem, and for racers it should give incredible adjustment at the track.

now whether he offers the bumpsteer or what type of shocks I dont know, i will talk with him more tommorow and see if this is going forward.

Peersonally I think it will be one of the best packages on the market for our trucks, with all around performance

No, Tony..... yer not............ Even though I was really pissed about our deal...and the lack of actually exchanging ideas...... Honestly, yer too good of a member of this family to actually ignore you.....

You make many great contributions to members and as I've said before, I actually appreciate you too much to actually consider you non-existent...

That being said, I'd look forward to any product of this type that actually becomes available through you ....

Thanks for your input.......

Its not mine there booger brain:p i jsut had a little birdy sittin in the correct spot at the correct time;) I hope it pans out i think it would be absolutly a killer deal for anyone, racer, show, or everyday, we jsut got to wait and ssee if it happens:D

Does this mean we can stop pretending that the X-metal kit is good....?

wings
headers for SC motors
x-metal kit
anything Hennessey
volant

what did I miss...?

D, If your still running the stock Pirelli's, get rid of them. You'll be amazed at how much better the truck drives with any other brand of tire. Day and night difference. Once you do that and still feel you need a handling kit then pursue it. But ya gotta start where the rubber meets the road.

No shit.....Is there really THAT big a difference in the handling because of the friggin' tires....?

Thanks for the input, When I get new tires I'll maybe get the Kuhmos 'er somethin'...

D,

I'm really glad you brought this up. I have been considering dropping my baby, and then someone will come along and talk about bump steer problems, pinion angle problems, sway bar kits, tearing up the fender liners in the front, etc.
I sure like the look of a dropped truck, but I don't know if it's worth it or not.

Thanks,

Lee
what he said !!!

I am gonna go out on a limb and say one is definitly in the works.

fully adjustable, no grinding needed, state of the art.

to what degree it will be offered as far as shocks, bumpsteer and so on, I dont know.

but i do know if everyone will post their suggestions, and what they would like as far as shocks, bumpsteer kits, it will not go unoticed

and I cant say no more except its not the run of the mill kit, and should use stock front springs.

and its not by the maker of the most popular kit being made now.

oh and it will be excellent for roadracers and dragracers

sounds interesting, keep us informed !!!

After installing my X metal drop on my RC I found it took quite a bit of work to get Camber/Castor back to spec's. Most everyone here stated their alignment guy got it right in but after doing mine I know it takes some work. I have a feeling a lot of folks here are running around with funky camber/castor numbers. Their alignment person simply set toe in and called it a day. Fact is how many alignment shops can correctly explain much less adjust both camber and castor and their relationship to each other?

btw....Xmetal states you "might" need to open up the upper slots 10mm. I had to go more than double that.....I have no handling issues other than when I loaded two pallets of tile in the back! :p

Damn you guys I thought Srt focused On Handling when they designed this truck. Some Guys told me their Quads feel stable at speed of 140. I'm not going to mess with The suspension at all.

I'm not a tech guy...... But whatever corrects the problem and maximizes the handling of the truck.....

If this keeps up, I may remove the lowering kit........ My truck handles like shit.

D

LEt me know if you ditch your lowering kit, i'll buy it..

Put me down as a definate, i'm really in the need of something for handling and would love a full kit as shipping multiple parts (drop kit / shocks) is brutal for shipping costs...
