Complete Handling Kits:

D, If your still running the stock Pirelli's, get rid of them. You'll be amazed at how much better the truck drives with any other brand of tire. Day and night difference. Once you do that and still feel you need a handling kit then pursue it. But ya gotta start where the rubber meets the road.

Big Dave is correct.

I have mentioned this before that the Pirelli's are a square shouldered tire and they do tend to move around a bunch. I have also found that they are very sensitive to tire pressures. Two or three PSI either side of the sweet spot and they are a bitch.

D,

I'm really glad you brought this up. I have been considering dropping my baby, and then someone will come along and talk about bump steer problems, pinion angle problems, sway bar kits, tearing up the fender liners in the front, etc.
I sure like the look of a dropped truck, but I don't know if it's worth it or not.

Thanks,

Lee

U GOT THAT RIGHT.ALL THESE ISSUES I AM READING ABOUT,I THINK I MIGHT JUST LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE.MAYBE USE THE MONEY TOWARDS A ROE

Where's the "sweet spot" on pressure for you?

From what I understand talking to everyone at Boomer's GTG it is 35PSI.

Wifeys 04 Rc likes 36 front......34 rear:rock: can drive it one handed all day and have had no issues except taking about 30 miles to get round again, but, hers is a garage queen:D :D :D

I agree Lee. I have a 2006 QC and I came out of a 2001 2500HD Chevy which road like a tank. This truck handles great to me. I also wanted to lower the truck but not much since I tow. I added Beltech 1.5" rear lowering shackles which leveled out the truck and did not negatively effect the handling. I left the front end alone. I did not want to go any lower because I tow a boat and did not want it to bottom out going down the road. Some others had asked about pics of the rear shackles after install so I'll post some up this week.

Another thing, I had a thread out for a month and got no replies asking if anyone had installed a rear sway bar on a 2006 QC. No one had done it so I took the plunge and ordered one from Summit. I talked to Hotchkis, Helwig, and Adco. Not one of those companies could verify 100% if there rear sway bars would fit a 2006 QC. I did not want to drill into the frame so I ordered one from Helwig which stated "NO DRILL". It installed no problem. Only issue I had was the U bolts were too short because the SRT10 axle is different than a 1/2 ton. I contacted Helwig and they sent me new U bolts and want pics of my install to revise the application guide. The truck now sits level, still rides very smooth, no rubbing or dragging, and handles a little better on the twisty roads leaving me very happy with the set-up. I have also not encountered any vibration, steering wheel pulling, or rough ride that some others have mentioned with lowering there truck. Again, my truck is not slammed but it looks good for me and rides/handles great. I'll post up some pics later.

Thanks!

I'm not a tech guy...... But whatever corrects the problem and maximizes the handling of the truck.....

If this keeps up, I may remove the lowering kit........ My truck handles like shit.

D
took my cheap ass mcguaney or however in the hell you spell it kit off last week. after the trip back from boomers i couldnt take it anymore. i wonder if garys handle's any better? if not ive got a set of cal tracs for a lowered truck that ive got to sell, will have to swap out rear springs cause i already installed them and the lowered version wont work on a regular truck.
