I placed the order for my Dell XPS WoW edition this morning. I've been eyeing Alienware vs. Dell vs. the new Toshiba SLI lappy, and Dell's release of this guy put the nail in the coffin.

Included with it all is the WoW package that includes:
# Pre-loaded with World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade and all major game patches
# Golden Ticket for a FigurePrintsTM custom statue of your actual in-game World of Warcraft character with your actual armor and weapons
# World of Warcraft Beta Club Key Card with a key to future World of Warcraft beta tests
# World of Warcraft and The Burning Crusade Collector's Edition Account Upgrade Certificates
# Exclusive desktop background artwork and screensavers
# Additional loot like a behind the scenes DVD, soundtrack, Warcraft novels, strategy guides, trading cards, etc.

There's a bunch of videos on YouTube of a guy from GeekGear opening up the backpack and what all it includes, and it's fullllllll of stuff.

Needless to say, I'm excited.

Damn what a machine...let us know how satisfied you are a week or two after you fire it up!

Nice machine!!

Personally I would've gone with an Alien, (I already have one!) I like Dells machines, always have. But, for pure performance, the Aliens are hard to beat!

My only complaint about my Alien is that I couldn't upgrade the video. Other than that, it has been a very good machine!

I am sure though, that you will be very happy with the performance of that Dell, it should really scream!

Do you have a large monitor that you are hooking it up to? Makes a huge difference!

I love that it comes with Lo-Jack!! I never knew they did that for anything other than a car!!

Enjoy! It's a very nice machine!!!!

Nice. Myself, I've gone over to the dark side with Mac. Gotta say, I love it too.
That's not the dark side, Bob. That's the GOOD side.
I've been running an Apple machine at my house since '84. :)

Brite- the new Dell looks sweet! I'm not a gamer myself, but I love the skin on that thing.

My server guy has been looking at the Alienware machines. I may have to send him a link. :)
(BTW- Doesn't Dell own Alienware now?)

Yeah, Kevan I really like it. Even bought my boy his first computer, a used G4 laptop. It's older and has a line down the screen, but I paid $150 for it, perfect for a 7 year old!

You don't have a working key for Photoshop do you? heheheheh I had one, but can't get it to work now.

Yeah, Dell has owned Alienware for about 20 months or so.

They've done good to keep them seperate business ventures though. Alienware gets the big buying power of Dell, Dell gets ownership in the Alienware name, everyone wins.

Sorry Bob. No keys for PS (plus, I'd never post them on a public forum. LOL).

That was pretty funny actually.

I dont play many games on my mac, PS3 is used for gaming.

Why cant you run windows on a mac to play windows games? :dontknow: I understand there really arent any macs out there for the sole purpose of playing games but if you upgraded one enough youd think you would be able to..

You have the right idea, but you're going the wrong way.

The software is called VirtualPC. It dumbs-down your Mac so you can run ALL Windoze apps......and games.

That's a big point that PC zealots usually forget: Mac's can run both.

Just heard something about Macs running vista faster than pc's too. The new Macs are way cool. And I would love to find Apple TV under the tree if you're listening Santa heheheheh.

I got an apple (pipin type) I could put in an old TV cabinet for ya ,if that will help Mr. Scum:D :D :D :p ;) :elefant:

I'm curious:
Do any members here run an Alienware machine? I'd love to hear you compare it to a 'regular' PC.
