My fan comes on at start up and runs slow but steady - all the time. I am running Sean Roe’s 93 octane flash with my SCT programmer. The fan never seems to pick up speed and my truck runs in the 200-200+ temp range. Normal~or~Problem???
I’m comparing this to my LS1 that kicks on at 160 and keeps the engine cool, but doesn’t come on until it reaches operational temp.

I’m all ears… Educate me please…:dontknow:

Mine runs at 200. I think you need to flash your PCM to get the fan to kick on at a lower temp.

I am running a stage 2 flash.
What bothers me is the fan runs at start up and never increases in speed.

B&G and Fan Advice

I called B&G to talk about my Stage 2 on my QC. I wanted to have my fan turn on earlier. He said he could do it but it would cost me 15 HP because it runs off the power steering pump. He also said the stock computer does not tell the fan to go on high until the temp hits 224 F. Therefore 200-210 is normal and perfectly fine. He basically said do not change it!

my truck use to run at 200 all day,I got the sct scanner from Marty, now the truck runs at 170 degres all the time I have not seen any loss of horsepower.and it still runs the same as the b&g stage II,GET THE SCT PROGRAMED BY Marty and you will see.

Forget to add the fan comes on quick, and runs fast speed,it also runs at 170 degrees at 85 mph all day.

Dave at B & G doe's not like lowering the engine temp!!!
S.c.T. allows you set it wherever you want.04s are a little tough to set,I do not think the P.C.M. has the capability.

Our fans have a 'Duty cycle' to protect the life of the power steering pump so says B&G Dave, I think he will only bump up the cycle by 15%.

This is why i installed my auto/ manual temp adjustable electric fans.

Does everyone know that NOT SCT Tuners are the same!,It really depends on who programs them,Marty rewrites the mapping and alot of the others are "piggybacked"!!
Very different from each other!just thought you might want to know.
