OK, usually the truck runs around 200* hot, I never really "heard" the fan running but could feel it if I put my hand in front of it. Never seemed to move all that much air even hot but also never overheated. Well I just installed my B&G Stage2 PCM which has the fan coming on sooner but holy cr*p now it sounds like a jet engine when it kicks on and moves air like a hurricane, it comes on now at around 180* or so and even after a real hard ride to test the tune it never came near 200*:D So my question is could my old PCM have had something wrong where it never came on full power or something else? For now I still have the OE thermostat in but I do have a 170* that came with the PCM, could this have something to do with it? Just trying to figure it out because I never heard the fan come on like this but it is nice to see it keeping things cooler even with the OE thermostat... Thanks for any input guys...:dontknow:

i would guess its because you havent changed your thermostat since stock is higher if its not opening and tune is trying to cool lower than it. fans going to try working a lot harder even though the stat isnt opened yet. at least that would be my thinking.

I know the B&G will kick the fans on sooner than stock will. plus at WOT with the A/C being on it will turn the A/C off.

My truck ran a little cooler once I installed it. around 190 I would say.

The factory high fan setting is up around 210f I believe, not sure on exact F but it's higher then 205f and I believe they are a two speed fan,I'm sure someone will chime in to confirm that knows for sure on specs.

That seems to make sense, low speed kept it under 210*.... Now HIGH keeps it at 180* or so, should be even cooler with the 170*stat.

Sounds good to me, does yours ever come on the high/hurricane speed??? LOL

unless its a really hot day mine sits on 170 pretty much all the time with tun and 170 degree stat
