Ok, to set this up, as some of you are aware, I travel a lot due to my occupation. That said, sometime back toward the end of Nov, early Dec last year, I was somewhere in Alabama (on 59 I maybe) There were 3 of us coming back to TN each in different vehicles. It's about 3 in the AM and they get tired and decide to stop, we were about 5 hours from being home so I decide to keep going and since I'm not in the pack and the traffic was virtually zero, I decide to punch it and save a bit of time.
So I go on for a while and I start to come up on a semi pulling a big blue Warner trailer. I dont think anything of it; he's in the right lane, I'm in the left, no problem, just cruise on by. This guy has some other plans though. Aparently he didn't 'approve' of my speed or something and as I'm at the back of his trailer he SWERVES over to the left lane, I would have been crunched so I went to the shoulder and he keeps going left, so I'm in the dirt at this point and my tail wants to start sliding off but I pull out and get back on the road and the truck just just goes back to the right lane as if nothing had happened. I'm like "WTF M8?!" up beside him but I couldn't see the driver, too dark, I hover next to him for a while to see if he does anything again, nothing. I went behind him to take a pic of the LP and 800 number but the pic didn't turn out. I figured it wouldn't be a good idea to screw with the crazy ass but to spite him I floored it past him.
I' couldn't believe that crap, f'er tried to kill my ass. I thought maybe at first he was going asleep at the wheel but after thinking about it, there's just no way.
Story 2
Not quite as interesting as the last but a few years back I lived in a very secluded rural area and I had the roads pretty much all to myself. This was back when I had my hemi. Guess I was still in my teens at this time. I drove the roads daily going to town for class, groceries, friends, or w/e and I had a few favorite areas, one of which was a big S curve limited at 40-45. And each time I would try to increase my speed a bit more than the last. It got to where driving fast on twisty roads was a very casual thing, to a point to where I'd drive listening to some jams with my left arm proped on the door armrest with a loose grip on the steering wheel, and the other across the center rest. This happend to be the state I was in when I learned about a safety feature from the Rams (at least those models). A lot of people will get scared and swerve hard away to avoid an accident, thowing them out of control, so dodge put in some sort of system that senses how much pressure the wheels are getting and at a certain pressure it will kick back the wheels to being more straight (I'm still not exactly sure hot it works) Usualy I would try for hitting 100 in the 45 turn, But aparently there was enough stress coming from the turn that it thought I was veering away hard so here I am taking this corner pretty hard and the wheel just yanks back to the left. I dunno how I managed to pulled out of that but I got lucky.
But regardless of that incident, I got pretty decent at the backroad driving but after I got my SRT truck and went to the SRT Track Experience, I realized how lucky I was that I didn't fly off the road a number of times.
