CROWER 1:7 ROLLERS

I have the jessel rockers ($1800.00!! Wth!!) and if it did not come with the car, I would have not purchased them...not worth the money IMO

But for 600.00 if thats 40RWHP, then its worth it...

Edit, just noticed it said 40flywheel so approx 32 rwhp...hmmmm...kinda a tossup

guys they are not goin to give you 40hp

that is on a genII as mmmmtrqe says

we allready have 1.7 rockers

the gen II has 16 rockers

but anytime you free up friction it helps

contact fstjack if ya want the best deal

I would think if your changing the rockers you'd have to change the rods, no??? That was my point as far as being pricey along with install cost?? :dontknow:

should you? yes

do you have to? no

are they expensive for the gain?
most definitly

sorry if my point seems vauge I'm on the pocket pc and typin sux lolololo

but the point was ' if you are doing a amjor build ie heads cam pistons etc
most definitly do them, they will actaully be magnafied when used with other componenets, otherwise builders would not waste there time

on a sttock motor a waste of time

look at it this way
lighter flywheel
lighter pistons lighter rods
lighter crank
less friction and lighter rockers

equal more hp achieved much quicker

For some of the roller rockers you have to get valve cover spacers too. That's another $475.

But like Vipertek says, if you are going to do head work and especially is you are doing Heads AND cam, you won't get the full effect of your mods with out doing the roller rockers too.

I believe that on the 'Viper' sites, Crowers are not liked! Failure rate I think, don't quote me. Most prefer the T&D's or Harland Sharp's, or even mother Mopar's. I'm going to get the Harland Sharps from Roe.

OK now the big question is, what is the most economical way to do roller rockers and push rods? Is there a good set that does not require the valve cover spacer? Do you need to get the most expensive brand, or is there a set that works well that does not cost an arm and a leg? I am planning in the future to do this, but I cannot afford big bucks to do this.

I've considered Roller rockers for a while now, but the consensus is (At a couple of Viper sites) they're worth <10 hp on our otherwise stock engines. Waaay too much $$$, plus more cash for valve cover spacers.

Now if I was doing Heads and possibly cam - Yes!:)

I saw that 40HP post somewhere too. But it was for GEN 2 Viper.

Are there any roller rockers that fit under the stock valve cover without a spacer?

Bill.

I don't think so Bill, but i could be wrong. My builder also advised that he was NOT a fan of Harland Sharps....he recommended T&D first and Crowers second.....just food for thought.;)

Rollers and pushrods, follow that up with a real cam and.......................:burnout:

 I have a loose plan but I think I'm onto something here:star: :D
