I have an 2005 SRT-10 QC with the RB1, infinity option including the subwoofer, and starting my installation, I have a few questions:

1. Is the amplifier the silver "Infinity" labeled component I see underneath the center console? Some information claims it is located behind the glove box...

2. The subwoofer amplifier located underneath the rear passenger seat? Delphi labeled.. Is it fed by the amplifier or directly from the radio? Looks like it is fed by the amp.

3. Does the stock HU feed the three front dash speakers or are the fed by the door speakers amplifier too? The wiring diagram below is a little bit ambiguos here...

I am installing an Alpine IVA-W505 HU, JL Audio speakers, MTX subwoofer (bought the one that covers underneath the entire rear seat) and some Kicker Amps. My thought was to use everything in their stock locations, move the sub amp to underneath center rear seat instead, where it will fit.

Anything I missed? Thanks in advance,

Anders

Not sure about the Quad Cab, but in the RC the subwoofer amplifier is located in the center console, and the amp for the full range speakers behind the glove box (but I would expect it's the same).

what he said

For the QC,

1. the center console houses the sub amp
2. the only thing under my rear passenger seat is the receiver for Sirius. The subwoofer signal goes from the radio to the main amp, then from the main amp to the sub amp, then to the sub. See 8-47-10.
3. On page 8-47-4, that PDF shows that the front IP speakers do run out of the amp,not out of the radio.

Hello Anders. The speakers are all fed by the factory amplifier behind the dash. it is very very hard to remove. Just unplugging the harnesses is difficult and will cause a little blood on your knuckles but it can be done.

When installing an aftermarket system, it is usually best to not replace the 3.5's but put tweeters from a component set there. Then the midbass speakers can be installed in the door for optimum sound quality. The best place to mount amplifiers in the QC is behind the back seat. Just remove the back seat and place the amps at the bottom. That way when seat is up they wont interfere. Dont worry they get plenty of air back there, and wont overheat. Which subs did you get? 4, or 5 series? Just curious, why did you not buy alpine amps? Dont get me wrong I have and love kicker, but the alpine amps are tiny!

Any other questions shoot me a line. OH almost forgot. No need to remove the amp behind the airbag up front. Just unpluyg it and plug in an aftermarket harness for a dodge infinity and you will be good to go:rock:

...or you could forgo messing with the dash entirely and mount the tweeters in the sail panels:

Makes for a good front soundstage.

OK, got you. My Sirius is what I see then.

I think I'll intercept the speaker wires at the amp here and use them.

Yes, I should have used ALpine amps. Might try that. What about intercepting the speaker wires at the amp? Tough/Easy to get to?
