I fixed my last leak down on the rack where the line hooks up to it. Now its leaking AGAIN up by the pump. I gotta take it apart and find the problem tomorrow. I cant catch a damn break.....

The upper connection is similar to the oil line to exchanger fittings....garbage. I know stinker is working on a long term solution. I ended up making up my own solution. The fitting down at the fan would be a fluke. Dodge actually used a proper connection there. FYI...the service manual states if you remove the inlet from the PS pump you'll ruin the pump. Not true....Our pump is a common saginaw brand pump. Do a search as I went into some detail what I did.

My truck is leaking heavily at the pump fitting. didnt know how bad till i had from bumper off and looked at the valance covered in oil. I need to get this fixed

Ok thanks guys.... shit is pissing me off. I got one leak taken care of and then sprung another....

Mine is leaking on the pump. I tighten it down and can still wiggle the metal pipe in the fitting. hose was $374 at the dealer

The fitting is supposed to be loose. Its a quick connect/disconnect connection. Like the oil exchanger lines a single o-ring is the only thing sealing the two fittings. Took me about 1/2 day work and about $75 in parts/tips figuring out a fix.

What was the fix a newer/larger O-ring?

No...I knew it would be a matter of time before the new o-ring would also leak. I converted to standard AN fittings and braided line. The connection at the hydraulic fan manifold is standard AN fittings. Up at the pump however is much like the oil exchanger...need an adapter. I pulled the factory fitting from the PS pump and went to my local speed shop who has a pretty good supply of AN fittings/adapters. Had no luck. I never went online to find one as this is my daily driver so I needed a fix that day.

I was simply going to cut off the factory fitting and weld on a steel AN adaptor. However, our factory fitting didn't have enough 'shoulder material' for my poor welding skills. I took it to local mechanic to have him weld it but he also had an older Saginaw factory fitting laying around that offered a lot more material. Welded on the AN adapter, attached standard AN fitting on the other end of braided line and snugged it all up. Its been a year or two since with no leaks.

Stinker is working on sourcing a proper adapter as well as supplying proper length hose and AN fittings shortly.
