David Spade helps Phoenix PD

Nice to know that some of the so called "Hollywood elite" have a proper set of priorities and good sense..........

My only question is "do those ARs have a selective fire mechanism....?"

If not........ why....?

If it was selective fire it would be an M, as in M4/M16.

And it's not at all necessary, the military's shown that accuracy/hits go down when the rate of fire increases. A "slow" hit is better than a fast miss. Missing in an urban environment here in the states at least, is a bad thing... Automatic fire has a place, specifically suppressive fire. Except for the absolute worst-case nightmare scenarios (North Hollywood shoot-out) laying down suppressive fire really doesn't fit in with law enforcement (unless your a religious whackjob on a ranch in Waco...). A few years back Fresno SO, PD and DPS used suppressive fire (without automatic weapons) to rescue a fellow officer who was pinned down inside a house by a local Islamic teenage extremist with an AK47.

Mad props to Spade for stepping up; not something his Hollywood elite contemporaries would likely do.
