I couldn't decide wether this is a performance mod or a visual mod. I think both but thats just me.

Anyway for those that have a Daytona wing AND a tonneau cover.

Did you just cut down/off what i assume is an alignment plastic on the bottom of the wing? It is arrow/rectangle shape and I guess it would go in the stake pocket holes of a standard bed truck without a tonneau cover.

Also did you take off the wing cable attachment and just use both the front and rear bolts?

I assume the cable is to keep the wing from coming unattached and twirly birding it on the freeway.

Now that I see the pictures and think about this, I see what you're asking.

Hummm...I don't remember that plastic tit on mine...it might have been there, but I don't recall it. On the cable, I installed them down in the stake pocket, but on yours that won't work so I'd cut them off. If the tit is in the way use a dremel tool or something and cut it off, I can't believe it's critical in nature.

I'vwe been told that very early model Daytonas had the wing break in the center. I assume the chord is a restraint that was added in case the wing did break it wouldn't depart the vehicle and cause damage to vehicles following behind.
The cable threads down through the stake hole then through a 3/8 diam hole to the rear of the tailgate jamb, then it fastens around the tailgate latch post

my daytonas original wing swelled in the middle. summer heat maybe? but it was replaced under warranty and the new one has been fine.

I think it was a design flaw, there were a number of them that ballooned like that !!
