When I take my truck to my transmission guy at 15,000 miles for the band adjustment, and oil/filter change I'm considering having him install a shift kit.

Good idea or not. If good, preference on kit?

Thanks,

I'm assuming he means a valve recalibration kit such as Transgo's, Fairbanks or the like..... PM Stinker for details he did one on their QC!! Good Luck!!

I replaced the entire valve body on my '03 Lightning and it made the biggest difference. I was curious on if a valve body swap on the QC would be of help.

What you trying to help? The QC will bark 2ed with Dodges blessing.Does even better after the Flash. The Lightning's had to have a valve body change to do that.

I agree the stock tranny shifts fine. And yep, chirps the tires under full accelleration every time. I'd still like firmer shifts across the board. On my previous Ram w/Hemi I had a Superchips on it. It eliminated some torque management and increased line pressure for firmer shifts. According to guys that did it, adding a shift kit in combination with the Superchips pushed the transmission line pressures to a point that the computer went into protect mode resulting in softer shifts than with either upgrade alone.

Will a shift kit for firmer shifts work effectively in conjunction with the DC Stage II? If so is anyone using the combo? Do you have a preferred vendor for the shift kits (Transgo)? I probably won't be happy with my shifts until it hurts my neck even under partial throttle.

Thanks,

mine will rip ya kneck off at low throttle, go with transgo or fairbanks
and I got the flash and vec and just about everything else

but have them put it in street strip and be sure they adjust the bands or it will screw the entire thing up

Stinker, what do you mean by "put it in street strip", and define "srew the entire thing up".

Thanks for the info. and help.

sorry loadin up in wv

the shit kit will come with different springs and spacers

you will be able to do the tranyy 3 ways depending on which springs are installed to increase line pressure

you will have a choice of heavy duty
street
and strip
but line pressure is the only diff between street and strip

if the bands are not adjusted properly then the increased line pressure will prematurely wear out the bands

the procedure is in diy section

ill be home tomorrow if ya need more help

Part of my Suncoast rebuild has Transgo internals.

I also put part of the 545re Transgo kit in my hemi. It's a very good kit. I have pics of some of the kit if you want to see it. It's only about 69 bucks for the kit.

Is the shift firmness increased with the stage II flashes? In my GMC i had a Hypertech programmer and i was able to increase shift firmness which made a world of difference.

does any body no where i could get a hypertech and k&n filter for my 05 srt-10

K&N filter..you can get one from auto zone. As for the hypertech..you can try search in the google to find their link. I don't know the link. Sorry.

I thought the stage 2 Flash was good enough:dontknow: Mine redlines everytime and gives me smooth crisp shifts.
