Hi all,

I have about $1,000.00 to spend on my truck that is currently completely stock. I have read great things about the DC Stage II PCM, but not much about Boomer's. I thought I saw a thread with some info about Boomer's 172 t-stat and PCM awhile back, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone give me a comparison on performance increases and overall cost, 172 t-stat included. I do plan on adding a K&N intake/filter as well as possibly a Magnaflow exhuast, (as soon as I can set aside some more cash)! What other performance upgrades are available for under $1,000.00?:burnout: I have an 05 QC. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Victor

I believe they are one in the same, or use to be. Also, add a drop-in air filter for about 50 bills.

Yes, on the T-stat. 25 bucks. Gasket is about 12 but you don't necessarily need it.

I have had the B&G stage 2. Call Boomer (or PM) and ask him what is different. He might change things a little from the others. But I think they are pretty close in what they do. I would spend the extra cash and get a whole new PCM. That way if you need to tow or go in for warranty work you can just spend 5 minutes and throw the stock PCM back in.

The computor upgrade is an excellent choice for the QC's. If your truck warranty is not an issue you can just send you pcm in and get it flashed and save some $. Magnaflow catback while not providing the power the flash has, it does have the huge grin factor!! Best bang for the buck catback there is. Cost is around $400 or so. Just call Boomer as he sells both.

Just call Boomer. He will explain any difference (if any) and give you lots of options for spending your $$$$$$$$$:D

Thanks guys for the info. I have really been wanting to mod my truck a bit, and with a little extra cash in hand I think now is the time.:burnout:

I installed a B&G stage II and a K&N drop in a few months ago. I dyno'd the truck in three steps and noticed an overall improvement of about 26 rwhp and 59 rwtq. That's with the stock exhaust. Im thinking about installing a Magnaflow too.
