Dead battery already????

Anyone else had there battery sh!t the bed prematurely? Truck was bought new 7 months back. Went to start it today and got the flickering lights on the dash and then nothing. What's weird is when I take the key out, the red light on the dash near the water temp gauge remains on and there is a steady humming noise. Did the battery disconnect without any success. The light in the engine compartment still works which is odd if the battery is dead. Switched back to the stock PCM, still no go. Won't take a jump. Guess it's time for a tow to the dealer on Monday AM.

I had a 2001 Dakota that had the battery short out about a year after I bought it...would not even jump start...warranty replaced the battery and paid the tow fee...

I think our OEM battery is kinda weenie..... The Interstae in my Z will crank even if the car hasn't run in over a month...... I get 10-14 days in the truck....MAX.

I shorted a fuse on 2006 ram, putting in a amp, it acted something like that.
It was a 2 or 3 amp fuse.

i'd bet on the battery being dead........ won't jump start is usually the give-away........

mine does this from time to time, because the wire to the starter comes loose from the battery.
