Newbie looking for some advice here. I'm trying to figure out exactly what I want to do with my truck. I've read countless threads where you guys have said have a plan/goal and stick with it, and thats exactly what I want to do.

I will be driving this truck almost every day, and I might hit the track once a month or so. Mon-Fri I'll put 10 miles on it max because I live right around the corner from where I work on post.

My original thought was to do the usual intake, stage 2 PCM, hi flow cats, magnaflow exhaust, and maybe headers. Now, I'm seeing all these great paxton deals in the buy/sell section of the forum, and it's got my mind going.

All I really want is to get atleast 500rwhp so that I can have some fun at the track, and burn any ricer that pulls up next to me at the stop light. :D Which route do you think I'd be better off going? Would I be alright with a SC and water/meth and everything else stock?

If you had a stock 06 QC, and... lets say 5k you were willing to put in the truck for the time being, what would you do?
Thanks in advance. You guys kick ass:rock:

5K won't get you 500rwhp. If you plan on modding I would go
1. VEC3
2. Catless mids
3. Headers
4. Catback
5. FI but that is expensive:burnout:  :D

Well i have the same truck, and here's my advice after having a Roe Supercharger... don't.

For what you pay and the gains you get from a supercharger save your money for something else,, our trucks will never be fast so face it.. i had to pay 10K to realize that.

What i would do if i had 5k and a do-over :)
1. Stage2
2. Catless Mids / Hi-flows
3. Magnaflow
4. JMB Intake & Catch Can

Now don't get me wrong these trucks are fast in the RC version but were talking about a 2006 QC.. only turbo's can help you. :D

I think he can get 500 rwhp with a Tune and Cats delete. Along with a Good set of headers. Remember I got 460 Hp And that was before my headers and no tune.

Annu,I was hoping you could get a dyno after your header install.Just curious what kind of gains you got if any.460 hp is pretty good numbers.

Will I be able to pass emissions without cats?

Depends on the emissions check procedure...Here in Illinois, they only tap into the obdII port and look to see if their is a code...in that scenario yes, you can pass emissions. If they do a sniff and mirror test, no you will not pass.

Annu is correct for California...but you are in Texas...find out what the emission test is...someone from Texas will chime in here soon...

Headers may get you 5rwhp...no more than 10rwhp on an N/A engine.

Just get Hiigh-flow cats...these trucks will never be fast:eek:

If I could do it over again I would have bought a 2 year old Z06...sorry boys:toilet:

You are now a wise man Deibs....most try to push these trucks too far and end up with problems and lost cash.

I have fabbed up a CARB legal bolt up mid exhaust system which you can swap out easily in 20 minutes. (from catted to no cats) All that was needed was 6 ea. 3 bolt weld flanges welded in the right spots. I have a shop in Amarillo if you ever get by this way.

I want the headers purely for the sound. I know it will never be "fast" but I'm not looking to run a 10 sec 1/4

Thanks man, I'll keep that in mind

No, your truck will never be a Z06...but it wont cost as much either...enjoy modding your Ram SRT10...unlike the Vette they dont make em any more...

True...

Header for looks and sound!

Stage II
Drop In KN ...at least.
magnaflow, cat deletes
....I like the sound of the exhaust w/headers as well.

Then think about No2....I drive about 7 miles each day, no real strain on the motor there...with a 75 shot I get 529 HP and 599 trq. Great power adder if you get the bells and whistles to make it somewhat driver error proof. You'll be over your budget of 5000.00...but whats the rush. Get the motor to breath and upgrade of the ECU is job # 1
PLUS YOU WON'T HAVE TO HAUL ANYONE'S STUFF
WHEN THE BED IS FULL :)

That looks insane. I'm in no hurry to get everything done. The 5k is just what I'm willing to spend right now. About how much would a 75 shot basic setup cost. I know nothing about NOS
