I am going to be getting my truck out of storage next month and I want to put new exhaust on it. I just bought the truck right before winter and didn't really get a chance to look at the truck yet and see what I was going to need. I am assuming there is an oxygen sensor before and after the cat is this right? If so how do I go about keeping the oxygen sensors working properly with out giving me a check engine code or hurting my gas milage. I am probably going to delete the cats and the mufflers but am not looking to get to crazy other then that right now.

remove the downstream sensors from the mids and tie them to the frame....plug the holes in the mids............this has worked for many here and would be the cheapest route....otherwise you might do the electric sims like I have...(installed before I read about hanging the sensors)...

I just found the cat simulators for 139 on ROE's web site. What does it mean when they say that you attach it down stream. I would assume this means the oxygen sensor behind the cat towards the back of the truck. Do you still use that oxygen sensor or do you delete it and attach the simulator in its place? if so where do you mount the symulator?

You have sensors upsteam (before the cats) and downstream (after the first set of cats)....the upstream sensors are a must for the engine to function....the sims replace the rear sensors and tell the PCM all is well.......in other words the cats that are not there are working properly...

I just found a thread about using an extender to back the downstream o2 sensor out of direct flow of exhaust and everyone on the subaru board seemed to say it worked and only cost 8 dollars. Has anyone tried this with our trucks. If so I will definitely try that first since it is cheap and easy.

Does any one know where I can get measurements to make my own midpipes? I have regular cab and I have friend that owes me favor that can make the pipes. I would rather have him make them before I take mine off if I can. What size are the pipes?

I went that route of making my own mid pipes. To be honest the cost to make the pipes is gonna be about a 100 short of what JMB justin sells. ON top of that Justin bumps em up to 3in instead of the FAct 2.5in. They are mandrel bent and will fit a whole lot better. I really wish I would have bought the ones that are already made.
