You may have seen it,and yes Roy it was on Mississippi Public Television
Eric Clapton and a few friends, Billy Preston on keyboards, recorded a couple of sessions of Robert Johnson songs. He was a blues singer from the Mississippi delta, he recorded his music in 5 sessions back in 1937 and 1938. The first session they did was in England, the second session they did was at 506 Park Avenue in Dallas, where Robert recorded his final 2 sessions in 38,it is now an abandoned building. Clapton was talking about the talent that Johnson had, how he could play the guitar in 12 bars per measure ?and sing the harmony in a different time? something like that! Said he had to practice morning and night for a week to try and replicate his style. I had the surround sound cranked up for an hour:rock: The rest of the family went to the opposite end of the house:dontknow:
I miss listening to my dad play his guitar with some of his friends, those were great times when I was young!
