Thanks for the info Tim. On a blues note, last night on the local news, AT&T/ Cingular wireless donated 500,000 dollars to the Blues museum in Indianola,Ms.. B.B.King was on hand as well as some younger blues players. King has donated thousands of his own money to help fund it also.

B.B.'s album "Indianola Mississippi Seeds" is a great one. He was born in Itta Bena, "Missippi";) ..couldn't resist the colloquial speak:D

When you wrote Itta Bena it reminded of my 9th grade Mississippi History test way back in '73. It was on Mississippi towns and the question was " What you might do with a vegetable" ....... eat a bean / Itta Bena.

I have some Johnny Winter in my collection, and I tell you what, Kenny Wayne Shephard is a talent that plays a lot like Stevie Ray Vaughn.

He plays the same guitar (Strat) as Hendrix and Stevie Ray and does like many of the same out of phase tones (positions 2 and 4) those guys used... Of course he would emulate the greats.... He's a good player...

He does a nice version of "Midnight Rider"... His 2nd (rhythm) guitar player has a good voice, too.....

Johnny always had his stage volume so hot that his slide guitar fed back like a MFr..... In this clip from Bobfest, GE Smith can be seen dealing with the squeal Johnny got from too much of his amp volume feeding back thru the monitors.... GE is a consummate pro and has stage managed the best in the world...... He led the band and was musical director on Saturday Night Live for several years....

Johnny Winter with "Highway 61"...............
