I was wondering if we have any accomplished writers of any kind on the forums....

I am contemplating writing a short book, maybe more, and was wondering if there is any really good software that anyone can recommend.

TIA

A notebook and a pen

The story is what counts, not the formating

And why is that?

A Pen and pad are nice, but I am more accustomed to the digital age.

I am actually trying to put together a book, and am looking for software that will help me keep track of and compile the characters, plot and all that jazz...

Offended???

Maybe I should have said, "published book writers" ?? :dontknow:

How about;

Jack and Jill went up the hill,
both with a buck and a quarter....

J/K, sorry to HO up your thread.

I thought you were looking for a ghost writer, not publishing software.

I keep all that other stuff in the basement of my head..... With lead sheets, chord progressions and the musical and lyrical arrangements to about 40,000 songs.... plus a bunch'a other miscellaneous stuff...

Good luck with the project, I'd love to proofread some of it for ya....

I would love to see Tim be the grammar police. He could even check for proper placement of each comma. Oh and then there are the compound and complex sentences with the transative and intransative verbs that may or may not need helping and linking verbs depending on if the main verb can do it's job or not. We also want to make sure the proper us of present past and past participles is checked and we wouldn't want to forget the proper verb voice, mood and tense either :D

How about it, Tim? :D :D :D

Give me some time and I might even remember something else I've read in the past 10 chapters of businessfuckinenglish :p :p :p

Good luck Scooter :)

Scott, I am no accomplished writer, but I am your friend, and I have been thinking along the same lines...

My two cents.....just write.....take some time, and do it your own way....

Some things I worked on, I just wrote....others, I did an outline....others yet, I did some brainstorming.....fawk the software, you can use word, or just pen and paper......just put words to paper.....any written work of size will take extensive time, a number of edits, and many changes.....just enjoy the process and get started....the rest will come....

I appreciate your input Perm!

And you are probably right, I have continued to write, although it's not always progress, it helps keep the mind limber! ;)

Scotty google Timmy.....He is a writer that is why he was offended :dontknow: :D A brilliant writer as a matter of fact....I believe I have read some stuff he wrote for Rolling Stone but I maybe wrong...on the magazine  :D
