does ebc pads really stop all the darn brake dust????

the greens cut down on dust , but do not stop it completely, the red lable pads give pert near no dust at all, put them on the challenger jsut to try, and havent cleaned the rims yet, and they are still clean

Hmmm, my brakes sqeak like a beotch and the brake dust can nearly choke me. What are some good pads for these things?

What red label pads?? I want them!

green pads
Designed for premium street driving offering better brake effect up to 600°C (1100°F). EBC Greenstuff has a high initial brake effect and gives drivers confidence from first application of the brake pedal. There is no such thing as a NO DUST pad. The very nature of how a brake works requires that some dust be generated to avoid rotor vibration (shimmying). The EBC pad creates less dust and dust is more easily washed off than most. All pads create more dust as they are bedding in especially if rotors are worn. Nominal friction coefficient 0.55

red pads
There are TWO reasons our customers love Redstuff, First because they are the lowest dust pad we have encountered by reducing dust by 60-90%. Plus the minimal dust you see is very easily removed with a simple sponge wash as it contains no steel fibre particles as in ALL OTHER pads. Second they brake like an alligator right from cold (as good as Original pads or better) and just get better as they heat up.

This material is a Kevlar® fibre based brake compound enhanced with ceramic particles. If you have previously tried EBC redstuff (pre-ceramic compound) this material is light years ahead. It lasts longer, it brakes better and is quieter.

Being a hard wearing pad, bed-in times can be as long as 1000 miles and drivers must be patient until the pad takes up the shape of their disc (brake rotor). This is a truly impressive fast road pad for repeated heavy braking.

It emits far less dust than semi-metallic pads and has been proven to stop a passenger car/sedan/sport compact/hot hatch 13 metres quicker than OEM pads from 100mph/160kph. Features EBC Brake-In surface coating which conditions rotor surface and accelerates pad bed-in. Nominal friction coefficient 0.5 with approx. 50% dust reduction.

zueckenhousen or something like that also makes nice pads, but I dont sell those.

but remember too with less dust from the pads means you have a harder compound pad, meaning less stopping power;)

i have seen yellow ebc too ...
whats the diffrence again?

I have the Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads. Zero dust.

Bill.

what do you do to stop the squeak I get when i brake? I was told that's just a trait of performance braking pads but I don't buy that BS....squeaks at low pressure braking and it sounds like it alternates sides when braking

lightly sand the pads, and scuff up the rotors, take some brake clean and clean the calipers around the boots

Carmax scuffed the rotor and it helped for about a week then the truck sat for a few days and the noise returned....how would i scuff up the rotor if I wanted...

stop by the local hardware, pick up some 320 grit sand paper.

remove the calipers and the pads, and rotors,

lightly sand the rotors in a circular motion front and back until they have a brushed finish.

take the pads and do the same, making sure you get the entire upper surface clean.

then clean the dust from the calipers.

when ya brake them back in , i found one of the best ways is to do four or five hard stops from about 40 mph
