Need some help on this one. I bought my 10 a few months back and I had it inspected by the local dodge dealership before purchasing. They gave it a clean bill of health. Now, I am noticing the engine seems to have lots of internal noise. I might just be paranoid, and its hard to tell if its getting louder since I drive it almost every day.

Can you guys listen to this video clip and tell me if the noise is normal for our engines.

Sounds louder than mine. Is there enough oil and what weight are you running?

Its 0w40 Mobil with about 1500 miles on it. Dipstick reads good and the oil is a light tan, a shade or two darker then new oil. Filer is a Mobil 1 I believe.

what is your daily driving like? I mean thru town stop and go? or thru the country , hwy?
and whats the temp like in the area at the moment?

wow that is alot louder then mine, sounds like not enough oil circulating to me:dontknow:

I drive primarily through town. 6miles each day. Not too many traffic lights, but I spend plenty of time at 35mph.

hwo many miles on that oil?
what wieght oil?
what brand oil?

what type filter?

how many miles on the engine & whats the oil pressure & temp. been runnin??????

28K on the engine. Oil pressure is ~75 during warmup. 25-50 during normal driving. Temp in this are is currently 60-70 degrees. Coolent runs around 195, oil temp in in the center (strait up) not sure what the temp is though.

if your oil temp is runnin straight up, thats the 220 mark.
mine stays pretty much with coolant temp. only time she has seen 220+ oil temp is at the end of a 3 lap run at the Laps For Charity.

i think its a bit high for drivin style & outside temp.

did the oil temp always run that high???

might be some kind of restriction, either coolant or oil. might also want to check your anti-freeze level. should be bout good to -34, bout a 50/50 mix.

ya got Stinker's oil lines???? & i run the Mopar Viper filter part#05037836AA

I would guess oil temp is 200ish, kind of like my coolant temp. I will check the manifold bolts tonight.

I had an 06' that was loud just like that after going to a 0-40. Ended up going back and getting 15-40 because it drove me crazy!

Just bought my 06, Sounds just like that. Once I get it back from the dealer gonna try 15-50 like you are all saying. I read somewhere else that the oil will help the valve train.
