Draining fuel tank

Is there an easy way to drain the gas tank on my SRT-10? I want to fill it up with a fresh tank of 93 octane after the long winter and put my new SCT to use. I'd put the fuel into my DD but I tried to use a hose. I think there is some type of anti-siphon device in the fuel filler neck. The hose would only go in about 18 inches before hitting a brick wall.

That is good to know about the hose thing.

I also say just drive it until it is low, it will be fine.

I usually leave mine at a 1/4 going into winter, but I also keep the garage heated to help prevent mositure buildup.

I've been told that most new vehicles have some type of anti-siphon device. I always thought that in the event of an extended power outage, I would have a large supply of fuel for my generator between my SRT-10 and Avalanche, however, it appears that once the fuel goes in, it's NOT coming back out. At least we know not to waste money on a locking gascap!!

This is how I did my uncles viper.... Get a refrigerant hose as long as possible (10 feet works good), I attached the end of it on to the fuel pressure test port on the fuel rail, put the other end in my gas tank, then I jumped ou the fuel pump at the fuse box and let it pump all the fuel into my truck (about 10 min. for 18 gal).

If you have the time just order one off the internet, there pritty cheap. They have a little thingy in the end that pushes down the the little thingy on the fuel rail test port. When you turn you key on the fuel pump runs for about 15 sec. I used some jumpers to get power to it at the fuse block and the let it run untill it quit pumping...

Locking gas cap not just to prevent gas siphon. Main reason I put one on is cheap ins. against someone putting something in there that don't belong. Could be a very expensive problem. rare, atleast in these parts, but it happens.

I have a locking gas cap, I should have bought it before shipping my truck since some "nice" guys drained my full tank of gas before putting it in the container.

Jump the fuel pump at the relay in the underhood fuse box. The relay should have it's terminals labeled with numbers and you want to jump #30 to #87

The refrigerant hose I believe should be a R12 low side hose (blue) for threads that should match the fuel test port.

Well my truck has been parked going on 3 months now and it looks like it will be a couple more before I get it running again so I wanted to drain the gas tank. I tried the above by jumping the fuel pump relay and turned the key on and nothing. Would this way not work since I have the twin fuel pumps that came with the Paxton kit on there or because there is no engine? I can't drop the tank because it's full but I don't want to start the new engine with old gas.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Got it!! I had to run a jumper wire from the battery to the fuel pump wires that were going to the paxton engine management thing.
