So finally got a spare set of exhaust manifold shields in. Changed them out, which I suggest doing the easy way because take it from me.... THE HARD WAY IS A PITA! After tattooing the Part # for the cat on my forearm and a few hours of yelling obscenities and throwing tools got it changed out and she sounds like a new truck! My shields were a heck of a lot worse off than were I left them in November. The passenger side had the both rear tabs completely broken off and the drivers side had one broken off, with one screw missing entirely. Gotta love it!

That is correct sir.... The first time I had the rattle I went under and saw they were a little lose. Then it came back two times as loud so I figured it was something else because I had just fixed it... turns out it was the shields again this time just broken completely.

I've heard some strange things like like that but I dont think my Mopar headers have a heat shield anymore. I'll have to take a look. Glad you got yours fixed.

For those who want to change yours in the future, simply jack up the front end, set on jack stands, remove both wheels, remove both fender wells, and you will have straight shot to the bolts of both shields. If you have access to a impact wrench, use it. Hwmech (Zach) used one with mine and the bolts came right off. I think the first shield he had it off in like a minute or less.

I read it would take just under an hour each side doing it the hard way, crawl under, unbolt, slide out, slide in, bolt in..... If I could do it again, I would do it the easy way in a heart beat.... Take it from me... Hard way is just wasting time

lol and honestly not only is the way I mentioned easier, but it's pretty quick to get it jacked, on stands, wheels removed, even if you didn't have an impact wrench. This is also the ideal way to install headers and can be done in your garage or driveway. But hey man, lesson learned. At least you know the hard way and will appreciate the easy way next time or if for some reason you have to get in there.

Headers were halfway easy to install, halfway a huge PITA lol. At least the BB. Easy part was getting into the engine bay and getting the shields and exhaust manifolds off. I think we had that part done in like 10 minutes. We both were like damn that was easy. Hard part was getting the new exhaust manifold gaskets to A)line up B)get headers lined up to the gaskets and C)get the bolts in straight while simultaneously keeping gaskets lined up and headers lined up. If any of the above was off even slightly, the bolts wouldn't go in straight. The front bolts were fairly easy because they were accessible, but the ones closer to the cab were not easy to get to. Learned a lot that night though lol.

You don't have heat shields Kyle, you truck is just noisy due to cam.
