You will note that I did not have room to put in both bolts...because of the location of my mid tubes off the long tube headers...so I just used two...

call me if you want

My loop is from Moe's Performance...

The bolts he sent were a little too short for easy installation...it worked but was tough...he sent new longer bolts and it was a snap with them.

So happy that you understand the importance of this safety item!

awesome pics roy - thanks !!!!

his instructions say " Place ‘adapter’ in cross member channel about 18” behind front U-joint (the gas tank bolts to this cross member)."
what "adapter" is he talking about (see pic) ?:dontknow:

In your picture on the left...the largest piece is the adapter...put it on top of the cross member...secure it with the four long bolts to the two strap pieces with two holes in them...see my last picture...the two loops go together in the front of the adapter, hang down to catch the drive shaft as far forward as possible...

let me see if I can help:D

laying under the truck with head at tranny an feet at rear axle;)

the large flat plate, the part with the four holes should go at about your waste to the crossmember at the rear of the cab, the two smaller braces are used to mount this with, the plate will go on top, the small braces locate on the bottom:dontknow: :D
\
then at the front of the plate with two holes, the u brace should fit over the driveshaft and mount to the front of the plate with two bolts.

then mount the lower part of the u plat to the upper part:D

Now that's funny, without a cramp?:D :D

My pecker will not let me get in that position.

That's a lie.

see, i get all that - but the instructions make the adapter sound like a part i don't have :

Driveshaft loop installation instructions 04/05 2wd

1) Place ‘adapter’ in cross member channel about 18†behind front U-joint (the gas tank bolts to this cross member).
2) Place ‘base plate’ on top of adapter (4 bolt holes over cross member/adapter) welded nuts face up toward floor board.
3) Bolt assembly together using the supplied ‘clamps’ and 2 ½â€bolts/flat washers hand tighten for now
4) Bolt ‘stationary section’ of the driveshaft loop to the front of the ‘base plate’ using the ½â€x1†bolts/flat washers and tighten to 90 ft. lbs
5) Bolt ‘adjustable section’ of driveshaft loop to the ‘stationary section’ using the 3/8â€x1†bolts/flat washers/jam nuts. Place flat washers on both sides of bolt.
*Allow plenty of space between bottom of driveshaft and adjustable part of driveshaft loop
6) Center driveshaft loop with driveshaft equally on both sides and tighten bolts on ‘clamps/base plate’.

*Antiseize compound or medium strength loctite may be used on threads.

I'm half Korean...we were left out when those were handed out...

Roy don't try to act like you installed your yourself:D :p We all know the truth!:bootyshake:

I did the loop myself...well my wife provided the brain power...and there was no grease to dirty my finger nails...we are always faced with the make or buy decisions in life...I have a huge bias for buy.

thanks for the input guys -- especially you roy with the great pics !!!!

i think i'll use my buddy kasey's lift @ punk's muffler for this job........

it's meant to catch the front of your driveshaft if the front u-joint grenades, keeps you from pole vaulting your truck....... most tracks require one once you're under a certain time &/or using drag slick/radials..... :)

Thanks for the info...thought it might be this but wasnt sure..

It is one of the most important safety features for those that race. Impaling the track at over 100 mph can ruin your day. Best case is that it removes your entire rear end, worst case it doesn't, and you pitch pole down the remaining part of the track.
