Drop kit for 06' SRT-10 QC Night Runner

Another newbie here, this is my first new car and I'm having a blast with it. But as with everything else I have, nothing stays stock for too long. Anyone else have this truck model and dropped it? I'm looking to do a 1in in the front and a 2in in the rear. I haven't had time to view all the threads yet so if anyone can send me some links to some about this topic, that would be awesome. Thanks.
 
Here you go bro!! First thing I did drop it 2 in the front and 4 in the rear and put the 24's on it. It rides really smooth and I tow with mine. Put airshocks on the rear so when I'm towing it doesnt hit the overloads.:D

Reading through the threads on SRT-10forum.com, the concensus there is anything over a 1in drop in the front has a rough ride and could rub the fender walls on bumps. The truck already came with 22's wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion slicks, but I will ask the vendors for their input and thanks for yours
 
With the X-metal kit you will have no such problems , you can either go 1-2 or 2-4 whichever you like , jsut tell Gary what you want.
 
Yeah and HELLO I have NEVER RUBBED ONCE!! If you want info on droppin these trucks talk to someone who drives one everyday! Incedentally I drove it today with almost 2 inches of rain on the ground.
If you do it right, it rides smoothly and DOES NOT RUB!! And I went to 24's.
There are several drop shops who know how to relocate the axle above the leafs and do the lowering kit properly.

Boomer/x-metal is the only kit to go with. I'm lowered 2/4 and even on the rough ass downtown Atlanta roads I never get rubbing in the front, I can also go over speed tables at a reasonable speed w/o scraping the nose. I didn't notice a difference in the ride quality but the rear axle hops less.

:D Why?? Just take yours apart, paint em black and remove the ugly ass orage reflectors. Buy a couple cookie sheets (to replace your wifes old ones) get some nice black paint, and turn on the oven to 350. Peel em apart and work your magic, just make sure to seal them back up nicely and voila you got some better looking "nightrunner" headlights.

Just so you know, there is not really all that much knowledge left over there at the SRT-10 Forum. Most of us came from there (or were banned from there) and that place is now dead for the most part. Some of the shit I hear them talking about is funny to say the least.
 
Thanks for all the info. I've already been in touch with X-metal. The 2/4 drop looks pretty sweet. We'll see what happens.

Just a drop-in filter, the paper filter sucks....Airaid, S & B, K&N, and a host of other companies have drop-in's for $50 to $60 bucks....it's a good, cheap mod....

I should be out your way on business early in December (6-8??), probably try to set up a beer drinking conference with all the SoCal SRT crowd....hope you can show, good to have another night runner on here :rock:
 
I'd highly recommend Boomer's kit, however I have had issues with rubbing (which took a toll on the plastic covers over the tires).. I'm still using the stock shocks <which I'm guessing isn't the best idea>

I also have issues coming out of parking lots, driveways etc... it's a trade off <handling/scraping> in hindsight I kinda wish I kept mine stock because I hate slowing down for dips in the road, but it does look bad ass and it feels better.
 
Yeah you definately want to put airshocks on the back (around $100.00) to stop the rubbing if you tow or haul with it. Also highly recommend the K&N Aircharger with the catbacks makes a difference on the off the line response and sounds mean as hell!!!:rock:
