i just purchased 2'' drop shackles do i just replace the shackles that are on and thats it or do i remove a spring and if so which one ?

I just did mine in the driveway. I bought them from Tony. Lift rear of truck. USE Jack stands to support it from frame rails. Lift or support rear end to take pressure off leaf springs. Remove one side at a time from rear shackle. Install shackle but do not tighten all the way. Do other side the same. Remove jack stands let truck support weight on it's own and tighten rear shackles. If you want you can grease shackle.

it didnt drop much im thinking of removing the overload spring

b careful they usually only drop from an inch to 2 inches it allways seems to vary, but if you remove the overload, under acceleration you may get severe wheel hop

whats funny is i put them on and didnt lower thats the thing 1'' would have been enough but it actually raised it a bit

:confused::confused: take a look at the old shackles, make sure the ones you took off were not allready drop shackles?
and the best way like said above is to leave them loose, drop it down, bounce it a bit, then tighten them up, if you tighten them up before you lower it , it will cause them to bind up a bit

i did what u guys told me 2 and worked out good didnt exactly drop the 2 but still looks good.

Yea I loosened it up came up on the bed and put in place slowly lowered it and started bouncing it let it sit and there it was

I got a 1 1/2 drop when I installed the shackles ---you did good getting 2:rock:
